Proud to be at SLIET.

Remarks :

The college security is the best, and the facilities provided here will enable a lot of students to feel home.

Entrance Preview :

I got entrance through the SLIET Entrance test held at different places in the country during year 2012-13. Being a premier Institute, governed directly by MHRD and good record made it simply for me to choose the Institute.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I am in the research field and it is supposed to be inapplicable to me. At times the classes we take make us realize how organized is the curriculum. Besides the college starts its courses from certificate, Diploma, Degree, Post Graduation and finally culminates by Ph.D.

Internships Opportunities :

For M.Tech students qualifying through GATE a scholarship of 12000 per month is given as stipend. the fellowship for Ph.D scholars varies from 15000 to 25000 with the former provided to students from M.Sc back ground and later to the students with MTech degree.

Placement Experience :

Placements here are mainly for the degree students and every year a lot of reputed companies come here for placements. As far to my knowledge last year three companies selected 10-15 students from Food Engineering Technology department. Talking about other departments one thing I know is that placements do take place but I certainly don't know the number.

College Events :

When it comes to celebrations, this Institute among the fore runners in Scientific Innovations, Fashion shows. The Institute celebrates TechFest every year in March April year where all cultural, artistic, etc. performances are performed. Besides the departments held National and International conferences for the scholars and researchers.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is among the lowest of all when comparing with the institutes. For degree students the fee without hostel is approximately 20000-30000, depending upon the trade/branch opted. For MTech the figures are almost similar and for Ph.D the figures are very lower, cheaper than any Institute across the Globe (2800 for General and 300 for category students).

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I do not know of any such Scheme. But ministry of minority gives scholarships every year that are also applicable here.

Campus Life :

The campus has accommodation for almost all faculty members both teaching and non teaching. The berths are allotted according to designation of the person. the campus features two lakes, a shopping complex, different migratory birds, etc. Overall the Institute is a complete package. The admission of students varies from North to South and East to West.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel charges are also affordable with a six month fee of about 2000 rupees. The mess fee is to be deposited at the end of every month which is close to the same figures. The last year degree students do get a single seater room. The same rooms are give to contractual faculty, Ph.D scholars and M Tech students.

Alumni/Alumna :

It depends on the individual; so far as mine experience is concerned my seniors were very helpful in each and every way.

Exam Structure :

As I mentioned earlier that I am in research field and cleared Ph.D course work in first year and a half. After that our time goes only for the research activities. Our morning is in the lab and evening in the lab, this is Ph.D. For other classes labs are frequent ranging from 3-4 labs per week.

Faculty :

The faculty is undoubtedly among one of the best and the focus both on research and academic makes a candidate to cope up with the issues associated with the modern education. The profile of almost all faculty members is of very high standards. their contributions have been thoroughly known throughout the globe.

Placement Experience:

In PhD, there are not many company placement opportunities. The placement cell of the university is very hard-working and active and provides every opportunity to the students. Majorly after PhD degree, most of the students go for teaching jobs.

Placement Experience:

The placements are good. But not God for some departments. Many companies like Tata, google, Mahindra, skyroot, spacefield, Vikash group etc. Offer of 35 lac for google. Google 35lac, Vikash group 7 lac and the average for the total could be 8 lac for all departments. 70% Students get placed and some go for start-up and higher studies

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course was chosen due to I have done my post-graduation in material science-related project. That's why i have enrolled in this course. The papers are well related to the research area on which they want to research. There should be some improvement required on the course curriculum i.e there should be some moderns technology subjects must be included and teaching methodologies should be easy to understandable. In a semester generally, two exams were conducted (i.e. mid sem and end sem) and the level is a little bit difficult.

Remarks:

It's a good place. No one regrets while being here. As we say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So it would be very mean to say too good or too bad. It's all about how one feels for himself or herself. Rest, college is good, management is also good. Being a central govt institute you won't face any major issues related to management or else. The things are smooth there.

College management is very good doing every effort to make this college one of the top college of this country. The problems or bad remarks told by students are reviewed and corrective actions are taken on those. This is possible on because of regular interactive sessions of students and management.
