Remarks :

I want to attend university. And this department is what I dreamed for. One of the best course in the university. No friends helped me to know about the course and then I filled the form on the official website.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I never thought I will get so many frank faculty members over here. They are very good at teaching as well as they help us in every way. We got mid-term and end-term and consist of various assignments. So along with exams assignments are very compulsory.

Course Fees : INR 17000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

I am very new to this campus so I will get my semester internship the next semester. I can't write clearly like from which project or company we will get the internship. But I guess everyone will get the internship in the nearest court.

Placement Experience :

You will be given an internship from the 3rd semester here till the 10th semester. But campus placement is not available here. You have to work hard to get a job of your own. Nothing is like someone will come and pick you. Elders will prefer you will pick.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The 1st semester costs 17,000 and the second semester costs 15000. If you are into quota you can apply for scholarships. Various scholarships are available to students who are interested in applying. Campus placements are not available here.

Campus Life :

We have a central library in the department library. Many organisations and groups are currently being contacted and controlled by students. The varsity week is held every year. Also, various functions are available on the campus.

Hostel Facilities :

The government hostel is a tagline on the campus. It is very good and valuable for money. The one that has financial issues can take hostel. PG is very expensive and is not good. Some are good but not all.

Hostel Fee : INR 15600 per year

Interview Experience :

Actually, I can say am from the Corona batch I applied for and got into merit that's all. So we are lucky enough that we got the classroom directly. But in other years interactive sessions were held and entrance exams were held too.

Life of a Law student in Gauhati University.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I opted for the LLB course because its more of a personal preference for me. I've always felt like being a lawyer i could do something for the society. The curriculum prepares us for real world applications as we have internship programmes and moot court experiences. According to me having the moot court compulsory from the first year itself would have been more helpful. The frequency of exams is perfect as their isnt any excessive pressure on students nor does it allows the students to laze around.

Remarks:

Every place has its pros and cons. It is undoubtedly one of the best colleges but the faculty can't help you if you can't help yourself. The moot courts which highlight any law college is equally popular here but you need to show your interest to seniors and teachers.

They will also have to give the entrance exam and based on the same, the students will be confirmed for the admission.

Placement Experience:

The college provides with lots of opportunities and aim at preparing all the students as best law graduates. Various law firms recruit the law graduates for the legal services. The college provides with good guidance to the students.

Admission:

Admissions to B.A. L.L.B. program is done on basis of Common Admission Test (CAT) 2019 conducted by Dibrugarh University. Admission to the college is in online mode. Candidates can download/ acquire the admission form, fill-up and submit the same along with the requisite fees and required documents. I got qualified in the entrance exam and got an admission offer letter in my mail and went ahead for seeking admission into the college following the instructions.

Placement Experience:

No this college does not provide any internship. It is completely depends upon the students how the get or approach for internship. The college doesnt also provide any campus placements. It depends on the talent and skills and over all CGPA of the students which will help them get good jobs.

Honest Review from University Topper

Remarks:

I was a part of this college for 5 years and I know this college well. This college should have an auditorium for conducting seminars and there should be College week so that the students can take part in various competitions. Moreover the library has insufficient books and most of them are outdated as new editions of those books are available in market. There are very limited books. Library doesn't have Manupatra, SSC online etc.and the computers are outdated. The administration is average they fail to respond well at times. The best thing about this college is that it secures 1st position in University results.

A journey worth sharing

Remarks:

Library is very limited and it opens at 9AM and remain opened till 5APM but very less no. of books, and no Online Library Access like Manupatra, Oxford digital Library, Jstor. etc..College Administration everywhere including prospectus mentioned that Campus is fully Wifi enabled but the wifi network is password protected, students are not allowed to access internet, but each student is charged Rs.2,500/- per year for Internet.Good Thing is that if a student does not attended even a single class in a academic calendar then he/she will be fined with Rs.1000/- and he/she become eligible to write University Examination, can't figure out what they will do after law degree.Very less Parking area.
