Learning with Fun

Remarks :

The living conditions need to be improved, apart from that it really is the best institute in the country. Most of the professors are interested in research and help promote the same. There are various tech teams you can join and contribute to the tech world.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is well planned with about 12 lectures and 9 lab hours per week, the first year is common for all branches except for one department introductory course which depends on your branch.

Placement Experience :

Being a first-year I'm not well acquainted with the placements but they are supposed to be the best in the country. Companies like Microsoft and Google come for placements every year. The placement cell does its job well.

College Events :

The college has a range of events going on throughout the year including Asia's biggest college cultural fest mood Indigo and the internationally recognized tech fest which sees a footfall of millions.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is quite feasible, around 1 lakh per semester. The mess and hostel fees are also affordable netting to about 30 thousand for a semester and other expenditures are negligible. The canteens are also affordable.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The college has a merit cum means scholarship for students in need, it also has a bunch of private scholarships. The best rankers from jee advanced also get an Aditya Birla scholarship. The number of only merit-based scholarships should be increased.

Campus Life :

The infrastructure is great for all kinds of sports and all the labs are state of the art. There are basketball and football courts in almost all the hostels and there is a student activities center which is perfectly maintained.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostels for freshmen are pretty good but the quality deteriorates as the hostels get older. But all hostels have aqua guards, washing machines and common rooms with plenty of games and other facilities.

Alumni/Alumna :

The alumni network is very helpful and even provides funding when required. They also organize interactive sessions and talks. They are an integral part of the e-summit as well. They also provide internship opportunities.

Admission :

In my case the admission was pretty much because of my rank, my other options were iit Kharagpur cs and bits Pilani cs but in the end, I chose IIT Bombay electrical since I'm from Bombay and because it's currently the best institute in the country according to QS world rankings.

Faculty :

There's a huge difference in the faculties from course to course, all the processors are masters in their field but not all of them can teach as well. That's not always a huge problem since they all have office hours and entertain doubts then.

Placement Experience:

On-campus placements are available at this college, but only mass recruitment companies come here, offering salaries between 1.6 LPA to 4.5 LPA. Companies like TCS, Accenture, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, and IBM visit every year. However, the TNP officers are not good at their jobs. Some students who are TNP coordinators receive special opportunities in placements. The IT department has more placements than the CS department, with almost 50% of students getting placed. On the other hand, in the CS department, only 30% of students get placed, and other departments do not have good placement opportunities. The average package is nearly 3 LPA, and the highest package is 7 LPA, offered by TCS. The placement information published on the college website and in the brochure is completely wrong and misleading. Some off-campus placement statistics are included in it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course which I have taken is electronics and telecommunication which is considered to be the toughest course . I took this course as I wanted a balance between my coding journey and also due to my love in electronics . Although the course is easier to understand, there are few courses which are outdated and can be updated with the current situations and scenario. Sometimes I feel that the time given to study for exams is less but again it's on the student and how he / she pays attention.
