Dr. Pankaj Chatterjee is the Head of the department of Hotel Management at RKDF University. He holds a Doctoral degree in Human Resource and Management. His areas of expertise include Food and Beverage Service, Management and Human Resource. He has 22 years of academic and industrial experience. He has published four papers in national and two papers in international journals. He has authored three books and has been awarded “the Star of Jharkhand” by Dainik Jagran.

We at the Dept. of Hotel Management, RKDF University Ranchi offer three-year duration full time BBA program in Hotel Management. This program helps students to further pursue MBA in Hotel Management for those who want to continue higher studies instead of going to the industries for a job.

The minimum eligibility to take admission in BBA Hotel Management is 10 +2 in any stream. Thus, it makes it suitable for the students who came from any stream (Arts, Science & commerce) to opt for this.

BBA in Hotel Management is a practical based course, the curriculum has been designed in such a way that 60 % practical classes and 40 % theoretical classes have been included.

The course BBA in Hotel Management has been designed by taking advice from reputed hotel industry personnel where latest trends and innovations in the industry are introduced in the curriculum by the industry experts. The Hospitality and Tourism industry is the second largest job provider in the world. Therefore, an industry expert also shows interest in updating our curriculum as per their needs.


What are the types of projects that the students are working on through this program?

In the curriculum, one semester (4th) is wholly dedicated for industrial exposure training where the students are being sent to various chain groups of National & International Hotels to pursue 20 weeks of training in all operational departments. After they come back, they are asked to prepare a project based on their learning from the hotels.

As said earlier, hospitality and tourism is the 2nd largest job provider in the world where in India approximately 70 Crore people are working in which this sector provides jobs to 10 Crore workforce.
