Dr.M.Sharanya, Professor and HOD of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has acquired her B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from G.Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Science, Hyderabad, M.Tech in Power Electronics and Electrical Drives and Ph.D. degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University (JNTU), Hyderabad. Her teaching experience spans a period of 20 years in various reputed Engineering Colleges in Telangana.

She has worked in the capacity of faculty member and Course Coordinator for undergraduate and postgraduate programs in EEE. She possesses the capability of handling various Electrical subjects effectively and has cultivated the necessary administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills to manage both academic and extra-curricular activities in a typical educational environment.

She is associated with reputed engineering colleges as an Examiner and member of the Board of Studies. She has published more than 35 research papers in international journals and conferences. She has attended and conducted various workshops/seminars/conferences/FDPs. She is a recipient of the Best Researcher Award 2018 from the International Journal for Research under Literal Access, by IDMAS Learning Center, Malaysia, and the Bharath Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Gold Medal award for the year 2019 from Global Economic Progress and Research Association, New Delhi. She is a Life Member of ISTE, IEI, and IETE.

What is the latest program that you are offering in your institute/department? Which will help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?

The latest program that we offer in our EEE department is MATLAB & SIMULINK through which the student can design the tools required for the generation of power like Micro-grid in distribution System.


What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt for?

The factors that make the student for this program are firstly, the generation of power through PV through the islanding mode of operation; and secondly, there is no need to depend on power through grid-connected mode.


What will you say are the “best practices” in the course that you’re offering?

Proper training and internships are the best practices that we offer for the MATLAB & SIMULINK program through which the students can do projects at the graduate level.


What are some valuable insights into the program that you are offering at your institute/department?

Guest lectures and workshops in addition to the value-added courses help the students to enhance their creativity and designing skills related to their core fields.

What were the challenges that you faced while inculcating this program in your curriculum?

Allocating resources, technology, and facilities to support the program can be a challenge. Adequate funding and staffing are essential for the successful implementation of any program.

The types of projects that the students are working on through this project include Engineering and technology, design and development, and conducting research and their applications.


What are the benefits and career options after pursuing this course?
