Dr. S. Shanthi is a Professor and HOD in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. She completed her PhD from the University of Mysore, prior to which she earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Science and Engineering from Madras University and a Master of Engineering (M.E.) from Sathyabama University. She has more than sixteen years of academic experience at various reputed institutions in Telangana. Dr. Shanthi’s areas of interest include Operating Systems, Computer Networks, Object Oriented Programming, Information Security, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. She has published more than 25 research papers in reputed journals and conferences. During her tenure, she has organised many international and national conferences and technical workshops. She has published three book chapters and has three patents to her credit. She has also been the resource person for expert lectures in the various domains of CSE and is the reviewer of the Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Humanized Computing. Dr. Shanthi has also received the Best Women Faculty Award -2018 from IASTE. She has professional membership in CSI and ISTE.

What were the challenges that you faced while inculcating this program in your curriculum?

Implementing a program focused on IoT, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine in the curriculum posed certain challenges. However, proactive measures were taken to address the challenges. To address these challenges, we have taken up strategic planning, resource allocation, continuous faculty development, and industry collaboration. We have also successfully integrated and sustained a program that prepares students for the ever-changing landscape of technology.

Students in our program engage in a wide range of projects that reflect the multidimensional nature of IoT, Cybersecurity, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. They are encouraged to pick topics based on their interests and career goals.
