Mallikarjuna Lingam, completed his Graduation (IETE) in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering from one of the leading Professional Society in India, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers, New Delhi. He did his M.tech in VLSI Design from Satyabhama University, Chennai. He did his Ph.D. from Lincoln University College, Malaysia. He has 13 years of teaching experience in MRCET CAMPUS. He has published more than 10 research papers in international journals and presented 12 research papers in international/ national conferences/ seminars/ symposiums. What is the latest program that you are offering in your institute/ dept. that will help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?

The ECE curriculum is designed to provide the students an exposure to the latest technologies and developments making them ready for the IT sector as well as the core companies related to communication & VLSI. The following courses are offered: VLSI, Embedded System Design, DSP Architecture, Computer Networks, Fundamentals of AI & ML, Fundamentals of Cyber Security, Cloud Computing Fundamentals, Internet of Things & its Applications, Object Oriented Programming through JAVA, DBMS, Innovation, Startups, and Entrepreneurship for the Final year students.

To ensure the students are ready for their future challenges, the curriculum is regularized and prepared every 2 years with renowned academicians, industry personnel, alumni, and Subject experts as Board of Studies members keeping in view the present and future technical and industrial demands.


How did you train yourself/ faculty members to deliver this program to the students?

There are frequent FDPs organized in association with the industries where the industry experts and the faculty have interactive sessions. In these sessions, the faculty get an opportunity to learn a practical approach to the theory they are well known of. This helps the faculty to provide both theoretical and practical insight to the students about the subject making it more effective.


How do you tend to build an industry connection with this program?

The best way of building an industry connection is to organize frequent industry expert interactions with the students and the industry experts are identified from the Alumni so that they can provide a very clear picture to the students regarding the program they are enrolled in. Guest lectures are also organized with industry experts as speakers. A few other initiatives are establishing industry - incubation centers on the college campus. Providing funds to the selected startup proposals given by the students. Providing internships for the students in these incubation centers. Inviting industrial experts as Board of Studies members and involving them in the curriculum framing.

After pursuing this course, the students have multiple career options as they are encouraged to join either in IT industry or the Core industry in the area of communication and VLSI where they are trained according to their interests.
