CBSE to Conduct Special Exams for Students Attending Sports Events & Olympiads
CBSE has announced to conduct special exams for students who miss CBSE board exams due to participation in any national or international sports event, or international Olympiads.
Such students will get another opportunity to appear for CBSE Class 12 Exams. However, the board has not specified the special exam dates yet. The dates are likely to be informed by March.
CBSE Class 12 Date Sheet 2025 for Practical Exams
The CBSE Class 12 practical exams 2025 will start from the first week of January 2025. The practical exams were conducted in all the regular session schools affiliated with CBSE. CBSE does not release any proper practical date sheet for class 12, however, it specifies the dates within which schools can conduct class 12 practical exams.
- Practical examinations are conducted in schools only.
- The dates and timings of the practicals are decided by the school authorities. Students need to contact their teachers to know the detailed schedule of practical exams.
- The syllabus for the practical exams is available on the official website.
CBSE Class 12 Practical Exam 2025 Guidelines
As per the notice available on the official website, the following are some important instructions for the CBSE Class 12 practical exams:
- Schools must collect a sufficient number of practical answer books before the practical exams begin.
- The detailed schedule of the practical exam containing dates, batches, timings, etc. must be informed to students and parents by the respective schools.
- The external examiner for the practical exams is appointed only by the board. Schools are not allowed to make any alternate arrangements.
- Schools must contact the allotted external examiner timely and should make all the required arrangements for the conduct of practical exams.
- Students must appear for the practical exam of a subject only on the specified date and as per the batch allotted to them by the schools. No student can take the practical exam on any other day or with another batch.
- The practical marks shall be uploaded on the same day after the conclusion of the exam.
- Schools, internal examiners, and external examiners are directed to upload the practical marks correctly as no change will be allowed in the marks once uploaded.
- The practical exams in the respective schools must be completed within the specified dates only. No extension of dates will be allowed.
- If there is any misconduct during the practical exams, or guidelines are not properly followed, CBSE reserves the right to cancel the practical exam in that school.
CBSE Class 12 Practical Exams for Winter-Bound Schools
Schools situated in winter-bound areas generally remain closed in January because of extreme weather conditions. For such schools, practical exams are conducted before January. This year, CBSE Class 12 Practical Exams for winter-bound schools will be held from November 14 to December 14, 2024.
- Schools must ensure that no student whose name is not submitted in the LOC submitted by the school appears for the practical exam.
- Schools must contact the regional office for the appointment of external examiners and observers.
- After the successful completion of the practical exams, schools must send the answer books to the regional offices.
In addition to this, respective school authorities also have to upload the marks for practical exams/internal assessments on the Pariksha Sangam portal from the date of the start of the exam. The uploading of marks shall be completed by the last date of the practical exam.
CBSE Class 12 Date Sheet 2025 for Compartment Exam
The CBSE conducts compartment examinations soon after the regular results are announced for those students who are not able to clear the annual regular examinations. CBSE Class 12 Date Sheet 2025 for Compartment Exams is expected to be out in the first week of June 2025 on the official CBSE website. CBSE Class 12 practical supplementary exams 2025 will be held tentatively between July 6 and 20, 2025.

According to the rules set by the board, you must separately pass practical and theory examinations. In case, you have missed the practical exams then, in practical exams you will get a notification of a fail in the practice of the subject concerned. This year there will be only one exam, but there will be a suspension of 30 percent.
