As per a tweet from the Press Trust of India on May 13, 2024, CBSE class 12 exam will be held from February 15th, 2025. The last date of exam is said to be April 2nd, 2025. In 2024, the theory exam was also conducted in the same date as mentioned for this year. The exam held for a total 47 days, which suggests there will be enough gap within subjects for revision. However, we always suggests to do the daily recall after completing a subject. Also, it is advisable to revise the chapters you have learnt so far on a regular note.
The common as well as steam-wise datesheet will be uploaded at the official website, i.e., cbse.gov.in, by December 2024 or January 2025. The internal assessments and practicals will be wrapped by January 2025. Each exam will be held for 3 hours from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Also, it is necessary to reach the hall 30 minutes before the starting of the exam. The board mentioned that the exam will be conducted twice from the next year. Students can appear in any of the two sessions. The board also said to increase the competency-based, source-based integrated questions from 40 to 50%.
The respective schools will start sending LOC forms for candidates’ final registration from the third week of August, 2024. Private students will get time for the self-registration during the September 2024. The admit cards will be issued from respective schools by the first week of February 2025. In 2024, the total 1633730 registered and out of which 1621224 sat for the exam.
Students can expect to get their results in the first quarter of May 2025. This year, the results got declared on May 13th, with an overall pass percentage recorded at 87.98%. The girls outperformed with an increase of 6.40% increase in pass percentage than the boys. The minimum passing percentage is kept as 33% for all subjects.
Any students who are unable to clear any of two papers must appear for the supplementary or improvement exam, which is scheduled on July 15th for this year. Next year, the improvement exam will also start in July and the registration process will commence from the June month.

CBSE to Conduct Special Exams for Students Attending Sports Events & Olympiads
CBSE has announced to conduct special exams for students who miss CBSE board exams due to participation in any national or international sports event, or international Olympiads.
Such students will get another opportunity to appear for CBSE Class 12 Exams. However, the board has not specified the special exam dates yet. The dates are likely to be informed by March.

The practical exams for class 12 will start from the first week of January 2025. The practical exams were conducted in all the regular session schools affiliated with CBSE. Class 12 Practical Exams for Winter-Bound Schools
Schools situated in winter-bound areas generally remain closed in January because of extreme weather conditions. For such schools, practical exams are conducted before January. This year, CBSE Class 12 Practical Exams for winter-bound schools were held from November 14 to December 14, 2023.
- Schools must ensure that no student whose name is not submitted in the LOC submitted by the school appears for the practical exam.
- Schools must contact the regional office for the appointment of external examiners and observers.
- After the successful completion of the practical exams, schools must send the answer books to the regional offices.

According to the rules set by the board, you must separately pass practical and theory examinations.
