What's New in CBSE Board Class 12 Exam 2025?
November 12, 2024: The Central Board of Secondary Education is expected to release the Class 12 Date Sheet by the end of November 2024. Check the further updates on the official website. Check Live Updates Here
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to release the CBSE 12th date sheet 2025 in last week of November 2024. The datesheet will be released on the official website – cbse.nic.in. The CBSE Board exams 2025 Class 12 is expected to begin from February 15, 2025 and conclude in April 2025. The exams will be held in offline or pen and paper mode.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to close the submission window for the List of Candidates (LOC) shortly. The LOC submission for CBSE Class 12th Exam 2025 will end on October 4, 2024. Schoolsmust complete the registration process by October 4, to avoid late fees. The board has issued the class 12 sample paper 2024-25 atcbseacademic.nic.in. Along with the sample papers, the authority also released the subject-wise marking scheme.
- The marking scheme for CBSE Class 12th Exam 2025 is different across subjects. The exam authority has assigned 16 marks for ‘1-Mark’ questions in Accountancy, whereas 24 marks have been assigned for ‘1-Mark’ Questions in English.
- The authority will conduct the examination from February 15, 2025, in PBT mode and will conclude on April 2nd, 2025. Also, as per the rules, the board will conduct the exam twice every year from 2025 onwards.
- It is likely that the board will release the CBSE Class 12th Exam 2025 Date Sheet around December at cbse.nic.in.
The board also released the complete CBSE Class 12 syllabus of all subjects for the 2024-25 session. Students can download the same from cbseacademic.nic.in, from the ‘curriculum’ section. The board has not implemented any major changes in the syllabus. Likewise, 5 out of 7 subjects must be chosen compulsorily, and students can choose the 6th subject as the elective/ optional. Each subject has 100 marks. This is further divided into 70 and 30 for theory and practical.

CBSE Board Exam for Class 12: What’s New?
Previously the board announced a revision of the CBSE Board Class 12 Exam Pattern 2025 with a 50% increase in the competency-based question. However, after the release of the Class 12 sample paper 2024-25, not many changes are seen in the Humanities. Although, SAQ questions are slightly competency-based. Now, the board is focusing more on opinion-based questions.

CBSE Board Class 12: Eligibility
- Academic Qualification: Students willing to appear in the CBSE Board Class 12th Exam 2025 must pass class 12 from a central or state-recognised board.
- Attendance: Candidates must have obtained 75% attendance in class 12 till January 2025
- Age Limit: There is no specific age limit for CBSE Class 12th Exam. However, the minimum age limit for a candidate should be within 17.

CBSE Class 12 2025 Preparation Tips: How to Get 100 Out of 100?
Half-Yearly Exam
Now, the majority of the aspirants are preparing for their half-yearly exam which is knocking at the door. We know that for the half-yearly exam, you have hardly 7 to 10 days, but we don't want you to waste it. So, use your time wisely. For the half-yearly exam, divide your time into two categories 1) Before the Exam and 2) During Preparatory Holidays.
Before Exam
In this 7-10-day time, you will have to cover the chapters that are not done in periodic tests. To cover these chapters, divide them into tough chapters and easy chapters. Start revision with an easy chapter. Indulge 1-1.5 hours for easy and 2-2.5 hours for tough chapters. After revision, try to solve NCERT questions.

During Preparatory Holidays
Revise chapters that are already revised and given in the exams. During these preparatory holidays use 50% of your time to revise theories and 50% time in practice questions.
Final Preparation
For the final preparation of class 12 reading NCERT books are required.
- For English, you will have to give more importance to the author's name, writing format, grammar etc.
- For maths, you will have to keep a good grasp on all the formulas. Besides that, you will have to practise at least 3 years of PYQs.
- For chemistry and physics, you will have to develop a basic understanding of the concept and their applications.
- Avoid making any rigid timetable rather maintain consistency. It’s difficult to finish one chapter each day if you are starting your preparation now. But at least finish 2 chapters of each subject in each month.

CBSE Class 12th Admit Card 2025
The Central Board of Secondary Education will issue the CBSE 12th admit card 2025 in February 2025. Schools will need to download the admit cards for all students and get them signed by the principal. Students need to collect their CBSE admit card 2025 from their schools respectively and carry it on all exam days.

The board will declare CBSE class 12th Result 2025 around May, 2025. Candidates can check their CBSE Class 12th 2025 result at cbse.gov.in using their school code and roll number.

CBSE Class 12th Result 2025: Re-evaluation and Compartmental Exam
The board provides opportunities for rechecking and revaluation of answer sheets for the candidates who are not satisfied with their marks. Students have to submit their request at cbse.gov.in. However, there are certain procedures you need to follow for revaluation:
- First, you have to apply for verification of marks for any totalling or checking errors.
- Thereafter, if your marks still do not increase, you can obtain a scanned copy of your answer sheet.
- With this, you can match your answers with the correct answers and in case of checking mistakes, you can apply for revaluation of those answers.
Note: You can not apply for revaluation of complete paper. Only selected questions will be evaluated.

CBSE Class 12 Compartment Exams 2025
The tentative date for the CBSE Class 12 Compartment Exam is the second week of July. The registration for the compartmental exams is likely to begin in the last week of May 2025. Regular candidates can submit their applications through their schools while private students need to apply online at cbse.gov.in. The application fee charged for compartment exams is Rs. 300 per subject. Students who get repeated in practicals, have to pay Rs. 150 for each practical exam.

In case the total number of passed candidates is less than 500 for a subject, no merit certificates will be issued.
