CBSE Board released the class 12th compartment exam results on August 2, 2024. The results are available on the website, results.cbse.nic.in. Candidates can check the results by entering their roll number and school number.

The Board started the class 12th compartment exam on July 15, 2024. For the 2023-24 academic year, the compartment exam is scheduled for a single day, i.e., July 15, 2024. The overall pass percentage is 87.98% which is a 0.65% increase from 2023.

According to a tweet from the Press Trust of India that came out on May 13, 2024, the board will conduct the exam from February 15th for the next academic year. The exam will be conducted till April 2nd, 2025. Also, as per the rules, the board will conduct the exam twice every year from 2025 onwards.

CBSE Class 12th Exam Date 2025

The board also released the complete syllabus of all subjects for the 2024-25 session. Students can download the same from cbseacademic.nic.in, from the ‘curriculum’ section. The board has not implemented any major changes in the syllabus. Likewise, 5 out of 7 subjects must be chosen compulsorily, and students can choose the 6th subject as the elective/ optional. Each subject has 100 marks. This is further divided into 70 and 30 for theory and practical. Subjects not having practical have the theory and internal assessments with 80 and 20 marks respectively.

According to NEP 2020, the Board will focus more on the analytical and creative thinking of students. Keeping this thing in mind, they will divide their questions in the following percentage:

  • Competency-based MCQs, Source-based Integrated, and other types of questions: 50%
  • Select the correct answer (MCQs): 20%
  • Constructed response short and long answer type questions: 30%

According to the rules, no open book examination will take place for classes 10th and 12th. Instead, they have piloted the OBE in classes 9 and 11 in some schools. Talking about the preparation tips, we knew very well many students had already wasted their 3 months knowing that there would be more MCQ-based questions. However, we must say that having MCQs is actually difficult. This is because in subjective type questions, you can write the answer of your own, but for MCQs you have to learn the topics of a subject in depth.

Candidates will be declared as passed by obtaining 33% in each subject separately. CBSE follows a 9-point scale grading system to prepare the final results. As per CBSE Class 12 Grading System 2024, students are awarded grades from A1 to E as per their marks. Those who get an ‘E’ grade will be placed in the supplementary or improvement exam category.

A general category student needs an AIR of around 1000 to get into NIT-C for B.Arch admission. This means around 300 marks.

In 2024, a score of more than 250 out of 400 marks in JEE Main Paper 2 is considered a good score for B.Arch admission. A score of more than 270 marks out of 400 can attain equal to or more than 99.6 percentile, which is considered good for admission to a top architecture college.
