Delhi MBBS admission 2024 is done based on the NEET UG Counselling. The admission for Delhi MBBS 2024 is conducted by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU).   

Delhi MBBS admission held for both 15% All India Quota (AIQ) and 85% state quota seats. Candidates can report to their allocated colleges till November 5, 2024 for the stray vacancy counselling round. 

NTA released the NEET result on June 4, 2024. Candidates must have completed their 10+2 from a recognised board with a minimum of 50% marks to be eligible for Delhi MBBS Admission 2024.

Delhi MBBS Admission 2024: Eligibility Criteria

  • Education Qualifications: Students must pass class 12 to be eligible for admission to Delhi MBBS courses. Also, candidates must be medically fit to participate in admission. They must have studied Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and English in class 12 and secure the minimum aggregate of 50% for general candidates, 45% for PH students, and 40% for reserved category candidates in their 10+2. 
  • Nativity/ Domicile Holders: Candidates must have passed class 12 from schools situated in Delhi NCR if they seek admission under the 85% state quota. The board of education in class 12 must have been CBSE, ICSE, or JMI.
  • Nationality: Indian nationals and OCIs will be eligible to apply for MBBS and courses available in Delhi medical colleges
  • Age: Candidate should have obtained or will attain the age of 17 years as of the 31st of December of the year of admission.
  • Entrance Exam: Students must clear the NEET exam to be eligible for the DU MBBS exam. 

Delhi MBBS Admission 2024: Application Process

Students must fill out the Delhi MBBS application 2024 for admission to the state’s medical colleges. See the steps below to apply.

Registration: To register for Delhi MBBS admission 2024, candidates have to register on the official website of the competent authority. Also, candidates will have to agree to the terms and conditions of Delhi MBBS admissions to register for the choice filling, locking and counselling process.

Personal Details: After agreeing to the terms, candidates must provide personal, and academic details, and security questions to submit and start the procedure. The details filled in the Delhi MBBS application must be the same as the details of the candidate in the NEET 2024 form. Furthermore, candidates can then confirm their participation by clicking on the ‘confirm registration’ button. A printout of the form is essential for the future process.

Choice Filling: On completing the Delhi MBBS registration procedure successfully, candidates will be able to see the colleges available. They can select from these colleges and their preferred courses as seats will be allocated to them as per their choice list. The choices can also be changed before each seat allocation round just before locking the choices. However, if the candidates have locked the choices, changes in the choice list will not be permitted.

Payment of Application Fees: Lastly, candidates will have to pay the Delhi MBBS application fee to confirm their participation. The application fee for General, OBC and EWS candidates is INR 1,500. For SC, ST and PwBD candidates, it is INR 1,000. 

Documents Required for Delhi MBBS Admission 2024

  • NEET 2024 score card.
  • NEET 2024 admit card.
  • Mark sheet and pass certificates of class 12 and class 10.
  • Domicile Certificate.
  • Certificate for category proof (if applicable).
  • Migration and character certificates issued by the school last attended.
  • Two passport-size photographs.

Delhi MBBS Admission 2024: Result and Merit List

  • Delhi MBBS merit list, as well as the seat allotment list, will be declared based on NEET result 2024 and participating candidates who have successfully registered will be allocated state ranks. 
  • Based on these state ranks in the Delhi MBBS merit list, candidates will be able to get an estimate of the state medical colleges that they can opt for during choice filling and choice locking. 
  • This merit list will also play an elemental role in the seat allocation process during Delhi MBBS counselling 2024.

Delhi MBBS Admission 2024: Counselling Process

  • Delhi MBBS counselling 2024 will begin after the announcement of NEET 2024 results and there will be at least 3 central rounds of seat allocation, followed by a stray vacancy round in case seats remain vacant at Delhi medical colleges. 
  • The counselling for admission to medical colleges in Delhi will be conducted by GGSIPU.
  •  A list of candidates who have been allocated seats will be released on the official website and candidates can check the list by logging in through their registered accounts.

Delhi MBBS Admission 2024: Reservation

  • 15% of MBBS seats are reserved for SC (Scheduled Caste) students. 
  • 7.5% of MBBS seats are reserved for ST (Scheduled Tribe) students. 
  • 27% of MBBS Seats are reserved for OBC (Other Backward Class), non-creamy layer students. 
  • 5% of MBBS seats are reserved for PH (Persons with Disability) candidates.

Ans. The life of an MBBS student at JIPMER is quiet and tiring. Yet, they get to learn and experience new things every day. Their daily schedule looks like this  8 am to 11 am: Lectures 11 am to 1 pm: Anatomy dissection hours 1 pm to 2 pm: Lunch break 2 pm to 4:30 pm: Practicals In the evening some prefer playing basketball, football, hockey, table tennis, and badminton while others order just napping or hitting the gym. Some music lovers go to the band room to play out various symphonies and musicals. A few artist students spend their time participating or practicing for fine arts competitions. September brings in a huge crowd of students from different colleges attending Spandan. It’s a 7 day intercollegiate cultural literary and sports extravaganza that makes the monotonous life of JIPMER students a bit vibrant. October witnesses the Jipmer premier league ied teams of girls and boys. There is also Curie Day which is the annual girls' hostel day celebration. The hostel is open for boys as well and girls perform dance and sing. After all this enjoyment, the exams begin and students are reminded of their primary goal.  January is usually spent at home. In February, students go to Pune for the fest at AFMC -‘Silhouettes’. March brings in the tension of the annual university examinations and everybody can be seen surrounded by books. The seniors organize a wonderful Holi celebration- a cultural night followed by gulaal in the morning to ensure that students don’t succumb to the stress. With this the most happening year, the first year comes to an end.  The subsequent years bring in additional tasks such as Research projects, voluntary teaching, quizzing, etc. Read more

Ans. One of my friends was in a similar dilemma. He considered the following points while making his decision  Most AIIMS undergraduates settle in the US or pursue higher education in top colleges in India while CMC graduates prefer CMC for their higher education only.  Students of CMC are required to do bonds in mission hospitals so their higher education gets delayed. But this instills in them a strong sense of community-oriented healthcare. They tend to work in remote places of India without any personal glory. An AIIMS student can hardly be seen doing community service. AIIMS graduates publish more when compared to CMC graduates. CMC students get better hands-on experience and hence fare better in terms of clinical and Surgical skills. Right from the second year, they start assisting postgraduates in clinical work.  If you are a non-Christian, it will be difficult to go through the entire training without a mission hospital Ultimately, make a choice based on your demographics, preferences, and goals in life. Read more
