Karnataka MBBS Admission 2024: Application Form, Registration Dates, Counselling, Top Colleges

Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) conducts the Karnataka MBBS Admission based on the NEET exam scores. Candidates seeking admission to the Karnataka MBBS can apply online through the official website. Karnataka MBBS Admission is done for 85% of medical seats for residents of Karnataka. 

NTA conducted the NEET 2024 exam on May 05 2024. Registration for Karnataka MBBS counselling was conducted between August 07 – 19, 2024. Currently, the stray vacancy round is ongoing. Seat Allotment result is published on October 28, 2024. Candidates can download admission order from October 29 – 30, 2024 and report to allocated colleges till October 30, 2024.

Karnataka MBBS Admission 2024: Eligibility

The general eligibility criteria for Karnataka MBBS admission are as follows. 

  • The candidates should have passed the NEET 2024 exam. 
  • Candidates should be citizens of India..

The eligibility for the government seats are listed below. 

  • Candidates must have cleared class 10 and class 12 from a school present in Karnataka. They must have studied for 7 years in a Karnataka Goverrnment school. Or,
  • They must have cleared class 11 or class 12 from a school present in Karnataka. Also, either of candidate’s parent must have studies for 7 years in a Karnataka Government school. Or, 
  • The mother tongue of candidate must be Kannada, Tulu, or Kodava. The aspirants who do not know the above languages have to pass the language test which is conducted by KEA.

Karnataka MBBS Admission 2024: Selection Process

  • The students seeking admission to the MBBS course in Karnataka should have passed the NEET exam with a good score. KEA is responsible for the allotment of medical seats in Karnataka. 
  • The students who have scored well in the NEET exam can apply for the MBBS degree. 
  • The state of Karnataka reserves 85% of medical seats for those who are native or have a domicile in Karnataka. Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the entrance exam and other eligibility criteria by KEA.

How to apply for Karnataka MBBS Admission 2024

The students who have scored well in the entrance exam (NEET) and fulfill the eligibility criteria for admission to MBBS colleges in Karnataka can proceed to apply online.

  • The candidates have to visit the official website of the KEA to apply for MBBS admission. 
  • They have to pay the application form fee.
  • Complete the college choice filling, and submit the application form.

Karnataka MBBS Admission 2024: Counselling Process

  • KEA conducts the counselling of MBBS seats as per the seat vacancy.  It arranges a mock test of seat allocation rounds so that students can get an idea of the counselling process. If any candiate wants to change his/her choice filling after the mock seat allocation round then he/she will be able to change the choices made earlier. 
  • The counselling for Karnataka MBBS admission are released in an online mode only. 
  • For Karnataka MBBS counselling 2024, there will be three rounds, including a mop-up round. If there is a vacant seat, available authority will conduct an additional round of Karnataka MBBS 2024 counselling. 
  • Applicants will be given a security key after the process of document verification. 
  • As per the choices the students have filled and the availability of seats for Karnataka MBBS admission 2024 the authority will allot the seats.

September brings in a huge crowd of students from different colleges attending Spandan. It’s a 7 day intercollegiate cultural literary and sports extravaganza that makes the monotonous life of JIPMER students a bit vibrant. October witnesses the Jipmer premier league ied teams of girls and boys. There is also Curie Day which is the annual girls' hostel day celebration. The hostel is open for boys as well and girls perform dance and sing. After all this enjoyment, the exams begin and students are reminded of their primary goal.  January is usually spent at home. In February, students go to Pune for the fest at AFMC -‘Silhouettes’. March brings in the tension of the annual university examinations and everybody can be seen surrounded by books. The seniors organize a wonderful Holi celebration- a cultural night followed by gulaal in the morning to ensure that students don’t succumb to the stress. He considered the following points while making his decision  Most AIIMS undergraduates settle in the US or pursue higher education in top colleges in India while CMC graduates prefer CMC for their higher education only.  Students of CMC are required to do bonds in mission hospitals so their higher education gets delayed. But this instills in them a strong sense of community-oriented healthcare. They tend to work in remote places of India without any personal glory. An AIIMS student can hardly be seen doing community service. AIIMS graduates publish more when compared to CMC graduates. CMC students get better hands-on experience and hence fare better in terms of clinical and Surgical skills. Right from the second year, they start assisting postgraduates in clinical work.  If you are a non-Christian, it will be difficult to go through the entire training without a mission hospital Ultimately, make a choice based on your demographics, preferences, and goals in life. Read more
