Life as a Mass Communication student in St. Xavier's College, Kolkata

My course was slightly expensive compared to other undergrad courses because of two reasons- one being we had the best classrooms in the building and secondly, we had practicals in studios that used very expensive equipment and softwares. Scholarships and financial aid are provided to deserving students.

What does it mean to be a Xaverian?

Fess was increased every year. The students protested but no actions were taken by the management. There were options for scholarships and concessions. However, I do not know the details as I did not avail those opportunities.

CBCS syllabus. Great faculty. Don't wish to name. Now we have online classes after the pandemic on MS Teams and they are conducted smoothly. Friendly faculty too. Accessible. Unable to do practical projects due to pandemic.

It's pretty good except for a few unnecessary subjects in the 1st year such as inclusion of hindi but as a high level course not for noobs like me who hasn't touched or even written hindi for 2 years. The syllabus for our course is interesting and keeps the students engaged. There are many practical classes which help us to get familiar with what it's like to work on field.
