St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata was established in 1860 and it is affiliated to Calcutta University. St. Xavier’s College offers admission to various UG, PG and Research Programmes in the field of Arts, Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Law and Education. The frequency and timing is pretty decent and the difficuly level is moderate. Admission process is perfect.

- The college provides exposure and has a very robust academic mechanism.
- The society's like XCS , XFC , XMS and others provide you the much needed corporate world exposure and also it's builts character in a individual.

- All classes don't have ACs so you'll have to be lucky to get the AC classroom because Kolkata's weather is very humid.
- The Canteen food needs to be improved. There are very items in canteen and they are not upto the mark also.

The admission process is not very tough. You'll have to apply whe form opens on official website and then a 3 merit lists come in a span of around 15 days. The lowest cutoff for cbse is 88-89% and icse is 86-87%. No tests are conducted for bcom course

- Professors are too knowledgeable and educated. They guide us in each subject teaching us the best concepts and building our solid foundation

- The college is very strict in rules and regulations. The timing of our classes is not upto my satisfaction.
- The final dropback of my college is the attendance issue. Students are not allowed to even gossip a bit between classes.

The admission Process is no doubt smooth, fast, easy and efficient. The course has an eligibility of 90% Marks scored in 12th board examinations and must include mathematics as a compulsory subject. The application form is available online in college website at the right time with all the structure of the fees properly mentioned and the last dates given. Students can apply as per their convenience and requirements. Reservation benefits are available to the SC, ST and backward classes. Christian students are also considered for reservation and their eligible marks is a bit lower than general students. Alumni reference can also play a role in admission. Exams are held in best time after proper education has been provided by professors. Exams cover the entire scope of study and provide us with the necessary guidance to test our abilities.

- Teachers efforts for students study's. They're really helpful and supportive. They are much more understanding what student actually need.
- College environment is good, specially college library was too good for study, and playground also good

- Rules and too much discipline here. I don't like washroom at all.
- Some teachers are not good. They doesn't help students like they don't give any suggestions for exams.

You have to pass class 12 any board. Percentage required 50% of marks. Which subject you choose to Hons for your degree. Application form available to college website. There are no reservation process.

- I liked the infrastructure especially the library corner which is pretty decent. One will be able to come across a ton of books of each and every subject and it is well maintained as well. I feel like the behaviour of some staffs need to improve.
- The students were friendly as well. They didn't reveal any attitude and didn't illtreat anybody.
Dislikes
- Behaviour of some staff. I think it's common you cannot raise your expectations high irrespective of any college.

The admission process was smooth. It took place during the COVID period so it was held online. The application form was available in their website sxcedu.com. the duration was more than enough to answer 2 questions. So no complaints regarding it.

- very high on events- there are gonna be departmental fests throughout the year along with some flagship fest , for cultural programs there is sunset jam , bonfire night
- The mass engagement and socialization , you are bound to work on these events for credits , trust me you get more than that , you meet people from all departments connect, network and even make friends
Dislikes
- The strict attendance structure, well its not that bad , 75% mandatory under that there is condonation fees .
- Not all rooms are air conditioned,tho most rooms above 2nd floor are but you wont get ac rooms in your 1st year ,unless you are mass com or multimedia

The application process will be fully online. Application forms are out right after 12th results ,on the college website. The form was 500 rupees during my admission. There are reservation benefits available. for sports, minority, Christian , and specially-abled students.

- The studios (editing, sound and cinematography) are well equipped with the latest equipment and softwares.
- The college has a lot of societies that host an array of different fests and events.
Dislikes
- The bathrooms could be better maintained. Since the infrastructure is old, the bathrooms aren't the best
- The food provided by the canteen could be better.
Admission:
To get admitted to Mass communication, you have to appear for a one-hour long examination which tests your creativity, your proficiency in English and your general knowledge. Some seats are reserved for SC/ST students but they still have to perform well in the entrance exam. Christians and students who have studied from the St. Xavier's School also get favourability.

- The college faculty for evening department is excellent and highly qualified ,though i personally preferred the younger professors as their teaching style was easier to follow and fun but all the professors are amazing and extremly helpful
- The college infrastructure and amenities are top notch, the college has its own xerox shop, atm as well as a stationery shop which is convinient.Washrooms are properly cleaned and highly sanitary and hygeinic. The college library is top notch.
Dislikes
- The attendence is extremely strict ,for students studying CA.CMA .CFA or any other professional course ,the syllabus maybe familiar to a certain extent but the attendence is definately merciless.
- The semester durations are short but the syllabus is rigorous, u will barely have time to breathe and semester exams have arrived and if you are studying for a professional course then it can be extremely rigorous.
Admission:
My admission happened during the COVID period so our batch and the previous COVID batch did not undergo the general procedure which constitutes a written aptitude test and personal interview. The first list cutoff is 95% for the general category and 87% for the second list. Besides this Xaviers has various quotas such as sports quota, alumni quota, etc. which also can be availed if u fit the eligibility criteria.
