Everyone's Choice : My college

Likes

A very girls to boys ratio , there is almost equal amount of girls as compared to boys , even in our batch or in most batches , girls are more in number
Good environment in the college , that is ragging is minimalistic in actuality , seniors are very cooperative and supportive
There is a good study environment in the college , with our seniors securing the rank 1 in the last neet pg exam

Dislikes

There may be less area of college campus in comparison to others
Because of the busy OPDs there is a very less free time for the students as such
Sports ground is not the one that you would sincerely like

Internships Opportunities:

In the MBBS curriculum itself there is a necessary internship that has to be done after the completion of the final year of MBBS and in my college in comparison to other state medical Colleges has a very good stipend of about 25k or more which is increasing over the years

Likes

Girls to boys ratio is 50:50. That is what is I like about this college
The determination towards studies. The ability to roam around the city.
Being the centre of attraction of the city. Best thing about this is it is centrally located. With a good internship stipend matching AIIMS.

Dislikes

The course is too hectic. Need to cope with the speed.
Festivals and events are not that much frequent.and participation too.
Too much type of a school thing. Strict about attendance.

Internships Opportunities:

Internship is of 1yr compulsory for everybody to do. No need to go to rural area as chandigarh don't have any rural area specifically. Get paid a good amount of 28k per month which will be getting after 3months.

The medical college

Likes

I like the campus of college and the security it provides.
I like the way faculties teach here and the clinical postings.
I like how genuine is the fees here and how we interact with patients.

Dislikes

I guess mess food can be better with better varieties.
I guess attendence systtem can be more systematic.
I guess the class size can be decreased as there are 150 students.

Internships Opportunities:

In medical college, we don't require placement. After completing 4 years of mbbs , we will do 365 days of internship in which we will get payment of 30000 per month. After that we will appear for NEET PG to select our specialisation.

Likes

Infrastructure is excellent and all facilities are available
The faculty is nice and very well trained
The practical skills are taught well along with theory

Internships Opportunities:

Internship is given in the college itself and paid around 24000 per month which is decent according to the work done here. You will help the junior residents over a year in internship and this is the time you learn new tasks

Internships Opportunities:

Internship is mandatory for each mbbs undergraduate student, there is extensive internship of one year in our own hospital, in every department we have to do our internship and we get stipend which is quite well if we compare to other nearby states (rupees 26k)

CON GMCH PROS AND CONS

The college has enchanced my insight about h various aspects in my life. I came to know about a number of disease conditions, emotions, characteristics and a standard of optimal living.
As a student of college of nursing, we appreciate that the faculty has made a lot of efforts to improve our infrastructure. We have six Air conditioners in one lecture hall, an auditorium attached for our functions and many more labs.
I learnt that not only studies but responsibility and social interaction also plays a vital role for a nursing students. This college has moreover increased our capabilities beyond my imagination in terms of creativity, confidence and courage.

Dislikes

I think the mess facilities are not at the appropriate standards. Most of my colleagues complaints about the food being prepared in the hostel mess. Some also has experienced health issues due to this which is also a concern.
I also suggest that Panjab University has been applying an inflation in the fee structure especially examination fees. I think that being in a government medical College the fees allowance should be relieved.
Talking about the new faculties are the best ones choosen by the college of nursing officials, but the more strictness applied now, we lack upon the freedom of speech and joyment.

Internships Opportunities:

For internship we are provided by the gmch itself. We are being acted like a real time nursing officer in different wards like emergency, hdu,icu, labor rooms etc. We also need to submit our report and research on a specific topic of concern during our internship period.

Library with peace and a wonderful discipline.
Canteen which provide you the feeling of outside outlet
LT with AC which provide you a great vibe

Dislikes

No sports facilities available at campus.
No transportation facility provided for the day comers
No safety for vehicles parking in the campus

Internships Opportunities:

The internship is already included in the curiculum in which the stipend of 13000 per month is provided to the students. The internship is of 6 months and included the best teaching efforts and clinical skills.
