Likes

Girls to boys ratio is 50:50. That is what is I like about this college
The determination towards studies. The ability to roam around the city.
Being the centre of attraction of the city. Best thing about this is it is centrally located. With a good internship stipend matching AIIMS.

Dislikes

The course is too hectic. Need to cope with the speed.
Festivals and events are not that much frequent.and participation too.
Too much type of a school thing. Strict about attendance.

Course Curriculum Overview

Relevance - discipline and punctuality is needed in this course for which college trains you well Can have fun too with the ongoing studies. Can join after clearing NEET UG examination. Teaching method is advance , with I guess he best classroom among other colleges .

Internships Opportunities

Internship is of 1yr compulsory for everybody to do. No need to go to rural area as chandigarh don't have any rural area specifically. Get paid a good amount of 28k per month which will be getting after 3months.

Fees and Financial Aid

As it is a government medical College. Ranked among top institutes. The fees is variable for different prof students. For 3rd prof it is INR 24800 Per year For NRI- it is 24k dollars per year. If you opt for hostel - it will cost 24000 including all electricity and water charges per year.

Campus Life

Campus for college is not that big. But very beautiful at the same time There is a fest named EUPHORIA which is famous amoung the north campus colleges. It is an intercollege event of 4 days. And intracollege event names PLEXUS. And an unofficial freshers parties by the seniors. Other than that annual days and conferences occur.

Admission

I did apply for grant medical College as it is near my present home. But I got GMCH chandigarh. For admission you need to give NEET UG. Based on all India quota and state quota you get admission over here. As I have lived in Chandigarh it was a good choice to opt for GMCH as it has a reputation to it

Faculty

Course is of 5.5 yr. Due to COVID it is of 5 yr only. 4 yr of studies and 1 yr of internship where your are paid a good amount of stipend matching AIIMS. Pasing percentage in each subject is 50%. Faculty is very decorated and full of knowledge but some are too arrogant for that too

The course of MBBS as lavish as it is , it's difficulty is on par with its name and fame , but because of the fact that the college curriculum is so well designed that it manages the real life problems seen by students such as difficulty remembering the subject as the year goes on , which is catered by carrying out multiple in between group activities and all .

Course Curriculum Overview:

THERE ARE FOUR PROOFS IN THE COURSE OF MBBS AND ONE YEAR OF COMPULSORY ROTATORY INTERNSHIP THAT TAKES PLACE IN THE GOVERNMENT MEDICAL HOSPITAL. THE FACULTY INCLUDES THE DOCTORS WHO ARE WORKING IN THE HOSPITALS WHO ARE ALSO PROFESSORS HENCE THEY HAVE ALL THE UP-TO-DATE KNOWLEDGE THAT ONE NEEDS IN THE COURSE OF MBBS. THE ACADEMICS IN THIS COLLEGE IS REMARKABLE AND THERE IS GOOD CLINICAL EXPOSURE PROVIDED ONE IS INTERESTED. THE PRACTICAL LABS ARE WELL EQUIPPED AND THE LECTURE THEATRES AND THE OTHER INFRASTRUCTURE IS UP TO DATE WITH THE CHANGING NEEDS, SINCE ITS A GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DEARTH OF PATIENT LOAD HENCE ONE GETS TO SEE A LOT OF PATIENTS AND CASES IN THE SPAN ON 5 AND A HALF YEARS. Dream college.

Admission:

First sit in NEET exam. Score good score and then apply for counselling via gmch.gov.in website and take part in offline counselling. Qualifying NEET exam is must and for availing UT pool seats one should be resident of chandigarh or must have completed 10th 11th and 12th from any school located in territories of Chandigarh.
