VIT Chennai boasts a well-qualified faculty, with over 75% holding PhDs from prestigious institutions like IITs and NITs. The faculty-to-student ratio varies across departments, with some estimates at 1:20, although classes can have up to 70 students. The faculty is known for being approachable, supportive, and engaged in research, with many having published papers. The college employs a flexible credit system allowing students to choose their faculty, enhancing the learning experience.

There are three main exams per semester: CAT 1 and CAT 2, each with a 15% weightage, and the FAT, which accounts for 40% of the final grade. The remaining 30% comes from assignments and quizzes, with a relative grading system in place. Despite some variability in teaching effectiveness and language barriers, the majority of faculty members are praised for their expertise and willingness to support students.

Faculty:

The facultys are very good and experienced. For every 25 students there will be a faculty of your choosen branch as your mentor through whole four year. Per semester there will be three exams. Two mid exams CAT1 and CAT2 and one final exam FA. CAT2 is an open book exam. Other than that you will have digital assessment as your internals. The exams are little bit tough compared to other universities

Faculty and students ratio is 1:60, but every faculty have their scholars also so not too much load..they are approachable also. They conduct 3 exams per semester, CAT1 CAT2, FAT in cat is of 50 marks but they consider 15% of that and 40% of FAT and 30 % is internals like DA, Quiz, etc

Almost all faculties are IIT graduate. We have this amazing opportunity of choosing our faculties and slot. We get provided with all their education backgrounds. All information including their cabin number, phone number is available in the website. Faculties here are easily approachable. I really believe the interest we show on the subject is what reflects our liking towards the faculties. I do not have personal favourites and dislikes. But one thing I can assure is almost all teachers here are very knowledgeable and there are few faculties that if u listen to their class alone it's more than enough. No kind of extra materials are required. Mostly all of them chill but the only time they are strict is during attendance. Each course we will have 3 test - CAT 1,CAT 2,FAT.each course will be provided with course objectives and outcomes and depending on that only the questions are asked. They ensure that each questions fall under atleast one of the course objectives. Going through the faculties notes are more than enought to pass. Only CAT 2 is kinda tricky because it is open notebook. We are allowed to carry our own handwritten notes during that exams. Here we have relative grading system so CAT 1 and CAT 2 doesn't have pass marks. If we are more than class average we are good. For FAT we need to take more than 50 to pass. Very less people I know have failed courses and they have an option of studying it again so it won't come under arrears.

The faculty members here are well educated. Mostly everyone here has a PhD which makes them well versed in their respective field. Due to a variety of population they converse in English. Also research can be done under faculty easily which makes the student an all rounder.

The faculty to student ratio is like 1:125 for each courses, the faculties are easily approachable by visiting their cabins. The names of the faculty that I liked is Shiwangi, she was teaching spanish in the first semester. there are also some faculties that i don't like because of their way of teaching. The exams are quite managable if the student had prepared something in between, it's hard to complete it all at the end. the Final Assessment Test is a bit too hard to study.

facult to student ratio is like if there are 70 students for one subject then there is one faculty.faculty to student relationship depends on the faculty only, some faculties are very friendly and easy to approach but some faculties are not.personally I have liked 2 faculties in the college.they are parasuraman sir and marziya begum ma'am i feel they are the best for me because they teach very well and they are very friendly and they are very easy to approach.they always clear my doubts.personally i didnt like alang g faculty of english and mohana preethi velan because i could never understand what they taught and they were not very friendly and easy to approach.

Most of the faculties are friendly and easily approachable, the faculties are well versed in there subjects but not many of them are good with teaching but when asked with doubt they will give good insight of it. Coming to exam structure there are three exams (CAT 1,CAT 2,and FAT) in the weightage of 15 , 15 and 40 for total 100 and the remaining marks are obtained from class assignments and quizzes. The theoretical exams are all relative grading so you have to get more than class average to pass the exams the no of failing students range from 1 to 5 for a class

so each same lasts about 4 to 5 months and in each exam, there will be 2CAT exams and 1FAT exam each course, would almost contain 6 to 7 modules throughout the sun, and each CAT divides it to 2 to 3 modules and finally FAT, which includes all the modules. since you have FFCS, here, you can easily take the best Prof. by the guidance from seniors. talking about the exam difficulty. The exams are almost easy to moderate level. They are easily preparable, not much syllabus.

Faculty:

It seems like there are a bit too much students for a faculty to handle. Hence, The faculty can't take individual care of the students. It's not like "I don't like this faculty because he was blah blah", every faculty deserves their position and I must respect that. Some faculties have good knowledge, but fail to teach it to the student properly. The exams are relatively easy to pass and getting a decent grade is easy. Even still, some fail in exams due to their weak spots. The first year programs are nothing related to your course, the main stuff starts later.
