CEG Guindy Admission 2024
College of Engineering Guindy offers admission to the courses on the basis of various entrance exams. Students must have a valid score in the respective entrance exam for a particular course.
- Admission to the B.E/B.Tech is done through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA).
- For admission to courses like M.E, M.Tech, MBA, MCA, students need to appear for TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test).
- Students with a valid score in GATE are offered direct admission in M.Tech.
- Admission to the M.Sc and M.Phil programs are done through an Entrance Examination followed by a Counseling round conducted by Anna University.

- The course curriculum is very good, but some courses, like Android, need to be added. Moreover, the industrial exposure is not well provided. As for the faculties, there are some brilliant ones, but there are also some screen readers among them.
- No, in our college, they will not provide any internships. We will be doing in-house projects. If the project is good, then they will try to write a paper on it and submit it to the project committee.

- Everything was in Tamil in the college, and coming from Mumbai, I could hardly comprehend what they were talking about.
- The hostel conditions were actually quite bad with more than three to four people in a single room

the admission process for this course was held online seperately. it was not through tnea. i was checking the website continuously for this application and then got my application. you can find the application form in the official college website. usually there are 3 exams assessment 1, 2 and semester. for both assessment 1 and 2 its for 1hr 30mins and for semester its 3hrs.

The admission process was so simple for both regular and lateral entry students. The must attain certain cutoff to get admission in CEG. The diploma students can join as lateral entries and they too need certain percentage to get admission. Every department has a specific cut off percentage to join in them. The students can join through counciling process. The counciling process will held separately for regular and lateral entry students. The college fees will be reduced uf the student is a first graduate or belongs to sc/st community. Scholarships will be provided for students based on their parents income or through academic performance. The students should score more percentage because then only they can get admission in the department they want to study.

After completing my UG degree I applied for tancet exam. I got 38 marks in that exam and then applied to Tanca for PG admission. All the application processes are in online mode no need to submit anything before admission in offline mode. I paid 500 rupees for the application fees. In each department, 25 students were admitted. So more than 40 marks in tancet exam will get admission easily in Anna University.

The eligibility condition is a minimum cut-off in physics, chemistry, and mathematics in class 12 board exams. The candidate should have scored a minimum of 50 percent in those subjects if he belongs to the general category. The minimum percentage is 40 percent for the reserved categories. The servers of the admission website lag when there is more than usual internet traffic. That infrastructure can be improved and worked upon. One should pass the higher secondary with a good cut-off. You can join this college through TNEA counseling which is only by the cut-off. The cut-off is 100 marks in maths and 50 marks in both physics and chemistry. Counseling occurs once a year. There are more reservations like ex-servicemen, sports, etc.

NIT Puducherry is very new compared to College of Engineering Guindy (CEG). Let me share some points which might help you decide.
- CEG is very old and experienced as an educational institution. It has well-established CSE and ECE departments with exceptional and updated lab facilities.
- The syllabus is more or less similar in both colleges.
- CEG has a more competitive student crowd which eventually helps students to boost their morale.
- Due to its years of educational experience, CEG definitely has a better placement record than NIT Puducherry.

Anna University offers B.E. in Computer Science and not B.Tech. in Computer Science. You can apply for admission to B.E. Computer Science on the basis of merit in the TNEA counselling. The per year fee of the course is INR 30 thousand. The total fee is INR 1.20 lacs.
There are two courses offered in CEG Guindy for Computer Science Engineering. These two courses are B.Tech. Computer Science Engineering and M.Tech. Computer Science Engineering. The per year fee of B.Tech. Computer Science Engineering is INR 32 thousand. The per year fee of M.Tech. Computer Science Engineering is INR 36,060.
