Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants seeking admission to 4 year Full-time B.Tech Program should meet the following criteria as specified by the institute.

Academic Requirement:

Direct Entry: 10+2 (Science) with 45% marks in aggregate and 50% of marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together for GEN/OBC candidates (relaxed up to 5% for ST/SC/PWD candidates).
Vertical Entry: Diploma in the concerned branch of Engineering/Technology from CIT with 65% marks for GEN/OBC (relaxed up to 5% for SC/ST/PWD).
Lateral Entry (CITLET): Diploma in AICTE recognized related branch of Engineering /Technology with 60% marks or equivalent CGPA for GEN/OBC (relaxed up to 5% for SC/ST/PWD) or B.Sc. (with Mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects) with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent CGPA for GEN/OBC (relaxed up to 5% for SC/ST/PWD)

Entrance Exam:

Direct Entry: The candidate has to clear the CITDEE-2019 entrance examination followed by counseling at CIT, Kokrajhar. The second way is by applying and appearing in JEE (Main)-2019 for the BTAD and NE candidates.
Vertical/ Lateral entry: Candidates who have passed Diploma from other AICTE/UGC recognized institutions have to apply and appear in CITLET-2019 for consideration of their candidature for admission into the third semester (second year) of B. Tech. programme under the Lateral Entry scheme.

Age Limit:

Direct Entry: Candidates must not be above 21 years, or below 17 years of age as on 01- 08-2019. The upper age limit is relaxed to 3 years for Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe candidates.
Lateral Entry: 40 years for Gen candidates (45 years for SC/ST/PWD and 43 years for OBC and female candidates) as on 01-08-2019.

Reservation:

Reservation of seats is as follows:

60% from BTAD (60% ST, 5% SC, 15% OBC and 20% General)
20% from North-East region excluding BTAD.
17% from All India excluding the North-East Region.
03% for physically handicapped candidates.

Liked the facility of central library very efficient and very helping in education purpose
Liked the staff and faculty members which are very good at the subjects and teaching

Dislikes

The mess food is not quite good very plain
The area of the college and asthetics and bit low

Fees and Financial Aid:

The cost of my education is moderate for me but not might be for some of my fellow mates which in total is 45000 for 1st year and 15000 for remaining years the campus employment is quite decent and okay in my opinion

Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar is a great government college.

The infrastructure of the college is also charming. It cover a huge area of 300 acres. There are seperate hostels for girls and boys present inside and outside the college campus. The college has a gym, 2 canteens, a big auditorium and a park.
It also has a basketball court, respective rooms for different clubs, well organised labs, badminton courts, a football ground, a tennis court, a huge library which occupies 2 floors and air-conditioned gallaries. The hostel timing is quite strict.

Dislikes

The canteen food isn't that good but its edible including mess food of the few hostels.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The college provides scholarships to each student whose family income is less than 8 lakh per annum. Each semester the academic fees are around 21000 and the hostel fees per semester are around 14000-15000 approx including the mess fees for open category students. The college provides off-campus and in-campus placements.

Tuition fee is almost 30000 per semester. We have different types of package for the education, like diploma, BTech and also Lateral entry. Each type's overall fees differs. Scholarship is available only for Non-General students.

I am from Civil branch and we had all the equipments needed for our practical work. The teachers are Phd background and the Assistant Professors are M.Tech. The curriculum is changed according to the latest requirements. Yes it makes us job ready

The course syllabus are upto date. Yes, we are provided enough industrial exposure. But you will also have to do internships during your summer if you want to add to your resume. The faculties were good. Some of them taught very well, while the rest were moderate.

The course structure is quite comfortable and gradual. But I find the academic marking scheme a bit harsh. Also there are great faculties and average ones too. The placement sector is numb though. I hope with the upcoming years there will be development in this too

Fees and Financial Aid:

If you are from NE region then you are going to get Ishan uday scholarship by Govt. Of India, which is very lucrative. It gives you around 8000 per month. This scholarship is purely merit based. If you don't get it, then you can apply for sc/st/obc scholarship provided by every State government.
