Kalyani Siddha's Review On Central Institute Of Technology - [CIT], Kokrajhar

Remarks :

The whole admission process in CITK seemed like my destiny. And of course, I wanted to come here. I had other options but somehow I wished I was here. It was my calling, I guess. And for the thing that I like most about this college is the library. I really love the carpeted floor and the wooden bookshelves. The interior is very captivating, with brown walls and books all around. The place is surprisingly peaceful. Though during exams it gets crowded, other than that it's the best place to visit. The only thing that our library lacks is the literature section. I mean there are plenty of books on literature but not the actual literature. You can count the number of novels in one hand. Opting for civil engineering is something my parents did for me. As we say elders know better, so they suggested that a bright future awaits for me through the doorway of the Civil Engineering Branch. And I gladly followed their advice and I regret nothing, not yet. But I had in my mind to opt for Food Engineering and Technology, but elders know better.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Everything is excellent. I feel very much well informed. I never feel missed out at anything. The instructors are always ready to help and provide proper materials. And I don't remember any name, whether it be a faculty or any student.

Placement Experience :

Don't have much idea about this topic. I need to ask around to know this answer. As I don't like to talk to people much, I am bit outdated on this matter.

College Events :

Everything is excellent. The college prefers clich̩. Every year they conduct the event in the very same manner, but it's grand. I think it's a waste that they prepare schedule each year. Every single students know the whole event arrangement. It's been the same since ages.

Campus Life :

Everything is excellent. Everything gives me a homely feeling. You can burn down the labs and take equipments with you. So yes, it's just like home. Everything is yours, you own everything. WiFi is something that needs to be checked upon. The size of the library is perfect. It's neither large nor small. And almost everything is new.

Hostel Facilities :

Everything is excellent, but just inside the room. The food is just a few feet away from prison food. The toilets are worse than public toilets. But they clean it regularly. It's the students who are dirty, they don't know how to clean up properly. They are just dumping their own dirt in the washroom.

The course curriculum is good. It prepared me for real-world applications and further academic pursuits. Now I am pursuing MCA Suggested improvements would be to add more projects to teach to students to give real time practice and modern teachings. Exams are frequent and of moderate difficulty.

It's a fact that the Indian education system is not designed or promoted for skills sharing. But if you are in CIT the scenes are quite different. In CIT various seminars and programs related to a high balance between a curriculum and an industrial side

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have choose EE because it's have both core and it features so i believe that I will go for core but if the situation changes then accordingly i will shift. The curriculum is pretty good in this campus according to me that's why I have choose this course. I don't think I have enough thinking level to suggest about that. Before exam there should be some gap for studies purpose I mean to say classes should be off. And everything is good.

Placement drives are held in December of every year for the students who complete their 7th semester. Placements are quite good over here, The highest package this year is 2.4 crore and the average package fluctuates between 20 to 25 LPA every year. One can also go for higher studies, there is no harm.
