About NEHU
North Eastern Hill University, popularly known as NEHU, is a public central university in Shillong, Meghalaya. Established in 1973, NEHU has two campuses, one at Mawkynroh-Umshing, Shillong, and another at Chasingre, Tura. The main campus is located in Shillong which is spread over 1225 acres of land. The university is recognized by the UGC and accredited with an ‘A’ grade by the NAAC. NEHU is ranked 80 among the top universities in India in NIRF Rankings 2023.
At present, NEHU has 79 affiliated colleges offering professional and other degrees. NEHU is also one of the first few universities to provide affiliation to ‘Minority Educational Institutions’ from all over the country. NEHU Admission Process
NEHU admissions to all UG, PG, and PhD programs are based on scores obtained in the entrance examination. The university accepts national-level entrance examinations such as CUET UG (for BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BSW, BALLB, BBA, BCA, and BTTM), JEE Main (for BTech), NATA (for B.Arch), GATE (for MTech), MAT (AIMA) (for MBA), and CUET PG (for PG courses MA, M.Com, M.Sc, M.Ed, MBA, MCA, and MSW). The final selection for admission is based on a cutoff released by the university based on scores obtained in the entrance examination. Candidates who secure the minimum cutoff marks released by the university are offered admission after receiving the admission fee.
Registrations for admission at NEHU usually begin in May or June every year. NEHU Placements
Every year, NEHU conducts campus drives for its students. The university has a ‘Career and Counselling Cell’ that provides training to its students and prepares them for their future job challenges. NEHU Campus & Facilities
NEHU campus is well-equipped with all the facilities. Its state-of-the-art infrastructure ensures that the students are given a perfect learning atmosphere. Apart from its academic centres, NEHU Shillong campus has residential quarters for teaching and non-teaching staff, guest houses, shopping complex, bank, post office, research centres, and much more. - Hostel: NEHU hostel accommodates both, male and female, and national and international students. In total, it has 23 hostels and all the hostel rooms are well-furnished, well-ventilated, spacious, and provide sufficient water and electricity facilities.
- Library: NEHU has a central library in Shillong and a campus library in Tura. NEHU’s central library has a collection of over 2.9 lakh books, 38,000 bound periodicals, and subscription to 316 international and 366 Indian current journals. - Sports: Sports activities are given due importance. - Health Centre: NEHU health centre provides preventive, curative, and promotive health services to its students and faculty members. It issues free medicines to its patients and provides emergency medical services including an ambulance facility.

- North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong is perfect for students to have full experience of a college life.
- The campus is perfect for morning and evening walks. Besides that there are many sports that students participate after their classes like basketball

- The lack of hostels for the Undergraduate females is concerning as many students who are yet to be allotted hostels have to spend a lot of transport.
- Besides the lack of hostels there is even a bigger need for more transportation facilities.
Admission:
Anyone who has graduated from 10+2 with 50% is eligible for the course. The CUET is the exam through which one can apply for this course. Once the CUET results are out the online application form will be available in the NEHU official website. The form is to be submitted online and once the students are shortlisted it will be published in the website itself. Those shortlisted students have to meet the head of department in person for an interview after which the admission can be finalized.

For my course BA LLB i need to give exam on CUET. Which i did. I was waitlisted but still got the seat. The admission process was quite easy but the payment was problem. Our website is not that strong so i have to pay multiple time for it to work

- Quite far from the city so if you stay outside, for days when you miss the University bus, it is quite a distance to travel

Entrance depended on CUET score.. Besides that there are also weightages like NSS, NCC, ST, etc. Application form and fees are usually available on the University website. Selection will be based on CUET score then document verification. And also admission process isn't long.

- I mostly like about the environment of my college. Specially the beautiful serenity of our college. Meghalaya itself a heaven with full of greenery and our college is not less.Being one of the top university to have a biggest campus in India.
- I like how culturally diverse our college is. We get to celebrate so much diversity together.

- Some faculties of department here have very bad management skills and are very rude.
- Some teachers are just there. Gives no effort to teach you new things.

For B.tech you have give JEE and have to take participation in jossaa and CSAB counselling. Moreover there's also nehu counselling happens which also requires Jee scores. You have to have atleast 45% in physics, chemistry and mathematics.

For the eligibility the students must have completed its bachelors degree from Biotechnology or any LiFe science course. Gat -B qualified students are preferred first. Application is easily available on the websites where one can easily apply and fill the form. Plus there is reservation available for ST,SC ,OBC , and EWS students.

- Classrooms are really neat and clean. The campus is full of greenery and active.
- Friends i met there are very nice and some of the best time i have spend in my bachelors.

I like the admission process though i was really late for the admission. The principal of the college given me the chance of admission even after the end of the admissions date based on my secondary marksheet. The admission process was really smooth.

- The college is 10km away from Shillong city
- There is very less shops near the campus, that too closes by 8pm

For admission in any medical College including NEIGRIHMS you have to clear NEET entrance exam and have a minimum of 75% in your board exams. There is no age criteria for joining MBBS. The application from for neet is in NTA website and Neigrihms admission from is from the official website of Neigrihms. Usually the admission is an offline process it would be better if it was online. The admission fees is Rs.50k.

. You can apply here though joshaa or the university have their on campus admission process for around 50% students intake. . The student intake is less and people don't know much about the university so their are way less students from a normal btech college. . You can get easily admission here as many people doesn't know about the university and if you want to do engineering badly but you can't take admission anywhere it may be your last option i suggest.

Only selected courses had entrance exams so I received direct admission after the application process. Reservation benefits were provided on the basis of the mentioned rules. Each semester usually had 1 internal tests and 1 external examination excluding the regular class tests and assignments
