What's New in CIT Kokrajhar?
CIT Kokrajhar Admission 2024 is open for B.Tech courses based on JEE Main scores. JoSAA has released the Round 3 Seat Allotment Result and the last date for fee payment is July 08 (5 PM). Further, the Round 4 results will be out on July 10 and candidates can pay the fees till July 15 (5 PM). Students can check the CIT Kokrajhar JEE Main Cutoff 2024 here.
Other Updates are as follows:
- CIT Kokrajhar Ph.D. Entrance Test is postponed to July 07, 2024 and the Personal Interview round for qualified candidates will be held on July 08, 2024.
- GATE CCMT Round 3 Seat Allotment Result is out for CIT Kokrajhar MTech Admission 2024. The deadline for online admission (PI Reporting) by depositing the partial admission fee is July 06 - 10 (by 5:30 PM).
Central Institute of Technology (CIT), Kokrajhar is an autonomous institute situated in Kokrajhar District of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) in Assam. Affiliated to Guwahati University, the institute currently offers B.Tech, B. Design and Diploma programs. At present, CIT Kokrajhar offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in six specializations, Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) and Diploma course in six specializations. Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of marks scored in the respective entrance examinations.
- In case of B.Tech, the candidate should have passed 10+2 (Science) with minimum 45% marks.
- Admission to B.Tech (Regular) is done on the basis of marks scored in JEE Main as well as CITDEE.
- For B.Tech Lateral entry, the candidate should have completed Diploma in the concerned branch of Engineering/Technology.
- Candidates are selected for B.Tech (Lateral Entry) under Direct Vertical Entry or on the basis of marks scored in CITLET.
- For Diploma, the candidate should have passed HSLC or equivalent with 45% marks in aggregate.
- Selection of candidates to Diploma is done based on CITEE scores or marks scored in PAT, conducted by SCTE, Assam.
- For B.Design, the candidate should have passed 10+2 examination in any stream with at least 50% marks.
- Candidates are shortlisted for B.Des. on the basis of their performance in CITBDAT.

The institute offers Bachelor of Technology in 6 specializations through Regular as well as Lateral entry mode. Out of the total seats available for admission into the first semester of B. Tech, 40% of the seats are offered to candidates who have appeared in JEE Main whereas the remaining 60% of the seats are filled through Central Institute of Technology Degree Entrance Examination (CITDEE) followed by counselling. Along with it, the institute offers admission to second year (third semester) of B.Tech through Lateral and Vertical Entry scheme for diploma holder students.
For Direct Entry: 10+2 (Science) with 45% marks in the aggregate and 50% of marks (without any grace marks) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together for GEN/OBC candidates (relaxed up to 5% for ST/SC/PC candidates).
For Vertical Entry: Diploma in the concerned branch of Engineering/Technology with 65% marks for GE/OBC (relaxed upto 5% for SC/ST/PC). 15 seats are reserved in each specialization under Vertical Entry admissions to the second year (third semester) of B.Tech for the eligible candidates of CIT, Kokrajhar.
For Lateral Entry (CITLET): Diploma in related branch of Engineering/Technology with 60% marks or equivalent CGPA for GEN/ OBC (relaxed upto 5% for SC/ST/PC) or B.Sc. (with Mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects) with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent CGPA for GEN/OBC (relaxed up to 5% for SC/ST/PC). Such candidates will be admitted on the basis of marks scored in CITLET, conducted by the institute.

The institute also offers Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program with an intake of 60 seats to the candidates who have passed 10+2 (Science/Arts/Commerce or equivalent) with 50% marks (without any grace marks) in the aggregate. For SC/ST/PC candidates, there is a relaxation of 5% in the minimum required aggregate. Candidates who have completed minimum 2 years Diploma after 10th Standard in the relevant field of study (e.g., Visual Art, Fine Art, Commercial Art, Fashion Technology etc.) from any Govt. recognized institute approved by State Technical Board/AICTE/University.
B.Des. (Direct Entry): Admission to the first semester of B. Design program can be obtained in the following two ways:
- The candidate has to clear the CITBDAT entrance examination followed by counselling which will be conducted at CIT, Kokrahar.
- Candidates can also appear and qualify in UCEED conducted by IIT BOMBAY for admission to B.Design course.
B. Des. (Vertical Entry): Candidates who have passed 3 years diploma in Animation and Multimedia from CIT in the current year having requisite qualifying marks would be admitted without any entrance examinations.

In addition to B.Tech B.Design, the institute also offers Diploma course in several specializations with an intake of 30 seats in each of them. For admission to Diploma courses in various streams, candidates must have passed HSLC or equivalent with 45% marks in the aggregate and 50% of marks (without any grace marks) in Science, Mathematics (or Advanced Mathematics) and English taken together for GEN/OBC candidates (45% of marks for ST/SC/PC candidates).
Candidates shall be admitted to the Diploma program in the following two ways:
- The candidate has to clear the CITEE entrance examination followed by counselling at CIT, Kokrahar.
- Candidates can appear in Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) conducted by State Council for Technical Education (SCTE), Guwahati, Assam.

Central Institute of Technology (CIT), Kokrajhar Application Process 2024
Candidates seeking admission to the courses offered by CIT, Kokrajhar can apply through Online/ Offline mode.
Offline Mode:
Application forms can be obtained from the selling centres upon payment of INR 1000 for GEN/OBC candidates and INR 500 for SC/ST/PWD. Completed applications should be submitted to "THE MEMBER SECRETARY, ADMISSION COMMITTEE, CIT, KOKRAJHAR, BTAD, ASSAM-783370”.
However, the duly filled application form may also be submitted to the “ÁDMISSION CELL, CIT, KOKRAJHAR” by hand on or before the last date. The candidates applying through Offline Mode need not submit any entrance examination fees (the price of Information Brochure is inclusive of entrance Examination fees).
Online Mode:
Candidates can fill the application form through the official admission portal of CIT, Kokrajhar. Candidates applying through Online Mode need to submit INR 1000 (for GEN/OBC candidates) and INR 500 (for SC/ST/PWD candidates) through the available payment modes.
Upon successful submission, candidates need to take a print out and send a hard copy of the online application form to “THE MEMBER SECRETARY, ADMISSION COMMITTEE, CIT, KOKRAJHAR, BTAD, ASSAM-783370”, by registered/speed/general post. The completed form should accompany with the entrance examination fees receipt paid through SBI, E-Collect.
Steps to Apply Online:
Step 1: Login/Register with your email. An account verification link will be sent to the registered email. Upon successful verification of the account, the candidate will be able to fill their application form.
Step 2: Fill the application form with all the valid information and proceed to pay the fees.
Step 3: Update payment details such as Reference Number after making payment through SBI Collect.
Step 4: Print the application form and send it to the institute admission committee.
Note: The admit card for the examinations conducted by the institute shall be issued online in the first week of May. The admit card can be downloaded from the CIT admission website upon entering the application form no. & the registered mobile number.

- The infrastructure of the college is also charming. It cover a huge area of 300 acres. There are seperate hostels for girls and boys present inside and outside the college campus. The college has a gym, 2 canteens, a big auditorium and a park.
- It also has a basketball court, respective rooms for different clubs, well organised labs, badminton courts, a football ground, a tennis court, a huge library which occupies 2 floors and air-conditioned gallaries. The hostel timing is quite strict.
Dislikes
- The canteen food isn't that good but its edible including mess food of the few hostels.
Admission:
The eligibility for admission in the college is 12th pass with 60% aggressive marks in PCM for B Tech degree and 10th pass for Diploma. The college provides all the degrees including B. Tech, M. Tech, Diploma and PHD. The college conducts a competitive examination and students qualifying the examination can get admitted to the college easily. The college also provide addmission through JEE marks.

If talking about the eligibility of the course it's based on the institution sometimes, as sometimes they admit student more than the actual numbers given in the brochure. We can simply find all the details on the website.

- I like the department which is cool for me. The seniors from others departments is so rude in our department they are brothers
- Campus is nice with great view playgrounds and gardens students mostly come to garden for making there projects and i like the post of the part there

- About the canteen facilities don’t give the food with proper time
- Hostel toilets and Mess are unpredictable water supply delay and lack of electricity in day Hour

Eligibility for the course is must complete 12th with science or diploma engineering, there are two entrances exams one for HS students and other for diploma students, exam was not that hard, they didn't delay to publish results and counseling process was also smooth, there is reservation for sc and st students.
Likes
- The library and the peaceful environment
- The freedom of the hostel it's like we can do almost anything here
Dislikes
- The curfew timing of the campus its to short
- The cleanliness specially of hostels so dirty
Admission:
I gave an entrance examination to get into CIT kokrajhar which was held by th college board itself. I scored a very decent percentage that gave me 21 rank in my whole ST category. Then during the counciling i came to the college all alone and choose my fav department out of all but also I had to choose other two departments as an option if don't get my first choice. But because of my rank I got my 1st choice that was CSE b. Tech and currently studying here in CIT kokrajhar as a CSE b. Tech student in my 2nd year.
