About BVEC
Barak Valley Engineering College (BVEC), Karimganj established in the year 2017 is the first state government engineering college in the Barak Valley and the fifth state engineering college. The Government of Assam took the initiative to set up this engineering college in 2009 and started its full operation in 2017 under the Department of Technical Education (DTE) of Assam. It is affiliated to Gauhati University and approved by AICTE. The college currently offers Bachelor of Engineering courses in 2 disciplines viz. Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. Admissions are done through Assam CEE.

- Hostels: The college offers hostels that are easily accessible from all other buildings on campus. The rooms are beautifully designed, spacious, and comfortable. Each room has two borderline accommodations and is furnished with quality furniture. Each hostel has its own sick room (2 beds). There are also two rooms for differently-abled persons and two guest rooms.
- Canteen: A good spacious canteen is present inside the campus offering healthy food & snacks for the students. Students can spend some relaxing time and can refresh themselves with quality food.
- Library: The college has a library that is well-stocked with a variety of engineering books related to the coursework of BE programs. There is a sufficient collection of books and journals to cater to the needs of all the students.
- Labs: Both the Computer Science and Electronics & Telecommunication department have well-equipped labs to provide excellent practical knowledge to the engineering students. The labs also have an internet connection.
- Sports: To facilitate the physical fitness of students, the college encourages sports activities. There is a huge playground inside the campus where the students can enjoy football and cricket.

- College is situated in a greenery area, it’s situated in a good location with lots of greenery and lakes and ponds , as a newly build college the infrastructure is good as an engineering college
- Playground are there for college students and there is a lake inside our college campus, college canteen are there .
Dislikes
- As i said college is situated in a greenery area but it’s very far from town availability is very low people often doesn’t recognise where this college is situated. Shops are also not available near college.It’s obvious because college is newly build
- As this college is situated in Barak region which is in ASSAM but 98% people doesn’t know to how to talk in Assamese , so a communication barrier crates between the students and local people.

I applied for many college like Assam Engineering college, Jorhat Engineering College and Barak Valley engineering college and i got into BVEC, because my main focus was on two departments first is Computer Science Engineering and the second is Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering . This three colleges provide Electronic department. Yes i did get rejected from both college because my rank was low because I was giving partial drop , i was in a potytechnique before going to B.Tech college. Admission process is easy first they select you and then call for physical verification where they take 6-8 thousand from you and then they call you for final admission where they take 9-10 thousand, to get into this college you must need to conduct COMMON ENTRANCE EXAM(CEE) handles by ASSAM SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY, cut off are is you rank is 2000-4000 your eligible for our college and our college rank is in 4th out of 7 college by the under of ASTU.

- The things mostly I like faculties and their way of teachings
- The Infrastructure is alsi very good and clean
Dislikes
- Actually everything is good there is nothing to dislike
- And just Canteen's food should be more hygienic

If I talk about the admission process first You all have to give an entrance exam that is CEE Combined Entrance Examination fir this you have to eligible and for the eligibility you must have physics , chemistry and Maths subject in your HS .

- The college campus is quite beautiful and amidst nature.
- The college has a boys and a girls hostel with a canteen and a Library.
Dislikes
- The college lies in a village which has some internet issues.
- The faculty comprises of some great teachers but some could have been better.

Admission into the college was through an entrance exam called CEE (known as the common entrance examination). All the details regarding the exam can be found at the official website of ASTU (Assam Science and technology University). The admission process is quite simple and similar to various other entrance examinations through counseling.

- I liked the aura of competitions within the students and zeal among the students and faculties towards innovation.
- Principal of this college is awesome, he counsels students regarding the career making decision. He is a good teacher too.
Dislikes
- Labs equipment are yet to be fully installed.
- Issue with the electricity, water. There is a electricity cut during rainy season.

Eligibility - Above 50% in aggregate of PCM in class 12 final exam. On the official website of BVEC Reservation is as per the clause and rules provided by the Assam govt. as it is a Govt. college. It's going smoothly till date.

- Very supportive, and well behaved faculties, we are very much grateful to them. Our Principal Sir is very supportive and much friendlier to each and every student.
- Seniors are very helpful, We have a clean and firm bond with seniors and juniors overall friendly environment.
Dislikes
- Transportation due to pathetic condition of road is an issue , hopefully it will be developed in coming years.

Admission:
A student must have completed the 12th standard from a recognized board in the Science stream. The student should have at least 60% in HS to apply for the exam. Admissions are taken ONLY through CEE Exam, which is a state-level engineering entrance exam. Every year the conducting body(ASTU/DTE, Assam) releases applications from their website. Students can fill it out online and submit all the necessary documents. Application dates are generally between January to March. After the exam, based on your state ranks, students are called for counseling at Guwahati, Assam where they are allowed seats in various engineering colleges in Assam.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I'm a Undergraduate from CSE because it's the only college in BARAK VALLEY of state government having CS as branch. Teaching quality is up to the mark with teachers using GOOGLE classroom for smooth assignment and notes distribution. Curriculum is under ASTU which is having updated syllabus which makes us ready for industry Internship.
Admission:
The entire administration of the college is very careless. They don't seem to bother about the students at all. But they always put a bar on the attendence criteria. Each and every student need to have atleast 75% attendence in each subject. Otherwise penalty is imposed on them. Ironically classes are not conducted on a regular basis.

The college should worry less about attendance and focus more on quality. The amount of frustration is super high with it. The best thing about the college is its nature. The college is super nature friendly.
