For CSE, I choose this college. The girl's-boys ratio in our college is 1:3. To pass the exams is not that much difficult but getting a good score is quite difficult. The professors are friendly and they teach us very well.

To be honest, The placement here is not up to the mark. If you prepare well for placement then you can get it. Most IT sector companies visit here and very less core companies. This year the highest package offered is 29 lakhs by Thoughtspot. The companies visited here is Deloitte, Infosys, TCS, Pi-Info, Thoughtspot, etc. Nearly 50-60% of students get placed every year and the average CTC offered here is 8 LPA. I want to pursue M.tech from any top IIT and for that currently, I am preparing for the GATE examination.
The placement scenario is getting better every year. Students become eligible for campus placements after completion of the 6th semester. Mainly IT based companies visit the college and core companies are very less. Companies that visit frequently are Deloitte, Pi-info, Infosys, NVIDIA, Johnsons Controls, etc. Deloitte is a mass recruiter as it selects about 10-15 students with 6-7 LPA. Nvidia gave an offer to 2 students with CTC of 9lpa. Highest CTC went this year (2022) is 29 LPA offered to a student by ThoughtSpot. The percentage of students getting placed every year is about 50-60%. After completion of my degree, I want to work in the TATA group of electric cars.
There was a very organised department which was solely engaged in the placement and related services for the members of different courses and the placement cell was knowledgeable. The university admission cell plays a significant role since the training and placement committee is responsible for all aspects of the placement process and also assists with it. The batch's top compensation package was over 12 LPA.
A good score in JEE was required to get admission here. I worked hard during my class 12th in order to clear JEE in first attempt as I didn’t want to spend a year in coaching. My JEE score met the cut-off of this university and I decided to study here. My score card of class 10th and 12th, along with JEE score report were cross checked during counseling.
The placement of the college is average but it does not mean that one should not opt for the college. The college management is working on improving the placement standard of the college and in upcoming years we will see the placement packages of the college has increased. The highest placement package of the college reached up to 16 LPA in the average placement offer is around 8 LPA which is not too bad also.
The college has to work a lot in terms of the placement standards. The placement quality of the college is decent. The college placement committee needs to improve the placement standards they should learn from the competition about the placement quality. The highest placement offer of the college was around 15 LPA and the average salary offer was 8 LPA which is quite low in comparison to other NITs of India.
NIT Nagaland is one of the best institutions when it comes to the field of technology. It offers a wide range of options to choose from along with a great number of scholarships to back you up financially. Here are some of the major elements which make the college one of the bests in India.
Placements: The rate in which students get placed every year from college is remarkable and it is one of the most important reasons that make it a good institution.
The highest salary package remains around 9LPA-10LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA-5 LPA.
Various companies offer internships and jobs to the students. Some of the companies are Amazon, BSNL, Wipro, Bharat Electronics Limited, IBM, LAVA, Polaris, and more.
More than 90% of students get placed in different companies every year.
Course fees:
The course fees vary from each course to the other. However, the major thing to note here is, the course fee is relatively less compared to the private universities of the country. It, therefore, offers affordable education to the eligible ones.
Those who want to pursue M. SC here, have to pay around 15000 per year, and the range increases when it comes to courses like B. Tech and M. Tech.
Scholarships:
A lot of supportive sources are there that help students financially to complete their education in this institution. Some of the major providers are the Foundation of Academic Excellence and Access India, District Welfare officer UP, District Welfare Officer, Bihar, District Welfare society Puru, Bihar, and more.
Hostel facilities:
NIT Nagaland provides hostel services to both boys and girls with a sufficient amount of necessary essentials like study table, almirah, iron bed, and more.
There is another paying guest which is available inside the campus for boys.
Infrastructure:
There is a huge library containing more than seven thousand books for all the courses along with a well-designed cafeteria.
The sports complex is also remarkable. It provides separate space for every sport including football, tennis, basketball, and indoor games like chess and more.
These are some of the major reasons why NIT Nagaland has evolved to be one of the best technical colleges in India. It has ranked 91st among the best engineering colleges in 2019 by JEE cut off across the country.
