Very less Internship opportunities are available here. The companies which come for campus placement give internship opportunities. Very less students get on-campus internships so most of the students try for off-campus internships. Currently, I am working on a DBMS project where we are making a clone of the JOSAA Database.
Companies that come for placement drives only give internship opportunities. Or else students try on their own for any internship opportunities. Projects are about making a report on some topics on a computer and preparing representation.
There was a very organised department which was solely engaged in the placement and related services for the members of different courses and the placement cell was knowledgeable. The university admission cell plays a significant role since the training and placement committee is responsible for all aspects of the placement process and also assists with it. The batch's top compensation package was over 12 LPA.
The placement offered by my college is satisfactory but one can easily seek a job by applying on own at any government or private organization. My college is trying to improve its placement rate by collaborating with different companies. During my batch 15LPA was highest offered package while the average was 7LPA. Most of us decided to do M.Tech as the job placement is quite decent after it.
The placement of the college is average but it does not mean that one should not opt for the college. The college management is working on improving the placement standard of the college and in upcoming years we will see the placement packages of the college has increased. The highest placement package of the college reached up to 16 LPA in the average placement offer is around 8 LPA which is not too bad also.
The college has to work a lot in terms of the placement standards. The placement quality of the college is decent. The college placement committee needs to improve the placement standards they should learn from the competition about the placement quality. The highest placement offer of the college was around 15 LPA and the average salary offer was 8 LPA which is quite low in comparison to other NITs of India.
The college itself does not provide internships and if we wanted to opt for an internship program we have to go for the off-campus internship program. The stipend will also depend on the norms for the internship because we are not getting an internship from the college.
When I was part of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Nagaland, the college did not provide in-house internship program as most of the students were busy with their research work. But if you wanted to opt for an internship you can do it off campus. The stipend for an internship depends on the company you have opted and remember college doesn't provide an internship program so you can not depend on the company for any guidance for an internship. Yes, faculty can guide you on what type of internship and from where you can do it.
