The Cultural diversity inside of Institutions and Culture that one will get to experience is what make this Institution Great. The rich culture of Surat Gujarat and the mixed of Very different states is a experience
Positive remark- after completing B.Tech at least you have a job in your hand because placement is very good. Reputed college in INDIA. Negative remarks- Some of facilities are not good. But only few of them are like that.
Being a national institute of technology the kind of upliftment given to students is missing but yes we students can improve the atmosphere of the college and can make it more productive and can even help others.
College has national tag so it's very good for the students because here we get placements easily but still we need to modify our curriculum and also training for real world problems so that the quality of placements increase.
All positivity as the college provides the best and extractes the bst out of one. One has to grasp all the opportunities thrown towards him during the college time and develop his skill in order to make his future bright.
Here, doing M.Sc is a good experience. If you want to pursue your career as the professor, the placements are less but fabulous for M.Sc physics. In 2017, the computer science branch students have the placements, but as I said the placements are less that is only 1 or 2 students got placed that to only in the physics and chemistry. The average package was 4 LPA. One physics student got placed from the off-campus and the package received is more t... more
Finally, SVNIT is really a place that you should not miss out if you get a chance (Especially if you get mechanical engineering ) and there is also no fear of ragging in the college premises. College management is very helpful in all the cases and we can approach them directly in their cabin in our free time.
SVNIT is the a place where you will not only study but you will become a better and newer version of yourself. It gives you knowledge and experience. The management is very good And helpful. So it's a perfect package for a student.
In terms of cultural and technical aspects college is awesome but in the academic aspect I am not satisfied with college and have expected more from it. Administration in college is also not very good and delays everything as in government offices.
College management is good and work for students as well as college infrastructure.
My review of SVNIT is a mixed one. It is a good choice in almost every aspect other than sports.
For sports enthusiasts, SVNIT is not the right choice. The condition of sports facilities at our college is not good. The sports grounds are not in a good shape. The cricket/football ground becomes a grassland from July to December.
The indoor badminton courts, which are two in number, are immensely insufficient to cater to around 4000 students. Each one has to wait a long time for their turn, and is given around 10 minutes to play the sport. Such a huge number of students can not access the badminton courts for sufficient durations. MMNCT is the best sports event of the year. It is an inter-year cricket tournament that takes place at night. The gym is well designed and has all the modern equipment.
Many classes are boring. But a lot of the professors, especially in the Civil department, teach really well. The marking system is very transparent, and after 15-30 days post the exams, answer sheets are made available for students to have a look. The classrooms are also very school-like in appearance. The rules are lenient, and most teachers are satisfied with a 60% student attendance.
The location is quite good, and malls, theaters, etc. are easily accessible. The campus is located in a posh area of Surat. Places like Mumbai, Daman, etc. are easily accessible for getaways. The placements are top notch, the clubs are plenty and quite decent. The mess food is quite good as well.
Unless you are very serious about getting the best sports facilities, SVNIT is a good college. But for sports facilities, I would recommend you try for MNIT Jaipur.
