The mess food is amazing but academic load makes the social life suffer. There are regular assignment deadlines and exams due to which students get less time for other activities and going out. Due to which some people do find it hard to cope.
The positive remark is that technically you get to learn a lot in the 4 years which is way more than any other college and the placements too are top-notch. A negative point is due to excessive focus on technical and academic aspects, extra curricular activities are pretty low in the campus.
The coding culture is very good at this institute, that has been due to the seniors indulging juniors in competitive coding and icpc from the first year itself. But what we mainly lack is extracurricular activities.
Positive: The location of the college is really good, it's in the centre of the city so every facility is within 5 kms of the campus. Negative: We don't get much free time, as compared to IITs, IIIT has more Assignments.
It's based on jee rank, usually you get cse above 1200 rank, IIIT has a portal for ug admissions where you have to login through gmail and then fill form for counseling, if selected for some seat will have to pay online the fees
College is good for studies but for other activities it should be improved, which is happening quite well, Since it is small community it is easy to interact with seniors for any help or guidence and over all once say it is one of the best college
Positive: Competitive peer group, primary focus on academics, excellent placement opportunity, plethora of research labs. Negative: No extracurricular activities, high competition for securing a decent grade in a course, negligent administration, lack of funds for college fest.
IIIT has a record for having the highest average package all over the country. As far as CSE goes, it is a 100% placement record with an average of around 19 LPA.
Academic focused college. You should be here only if you're really very focused and interested in learning. Cultural life is not very good.
As compared for career purpose this is one of the best university where you can do research and you would get good experience but you wont be able to hold the same with sports
IIIT's curriculum is similar to IIT after which it has been designed. Under this curriculum, you have to complete all compulsory CS courses within 2 years and then you are open to explore a field of your choice through electives in the 3rd and 4th year. A few common electives include VISION, NLP, CSTAR, and many others. Some students use their free time to prepare for their Master, publish undergrad papers, and then move abroad for Masters. Others can be seen targeting an MBA. Consider the following things before making the final decision
Overall, IIIT Hyderabad is an excellent choice considering its rich research culture in comparison to IIT Guwahati.
