IIIT Hyderabad’s dual degree program will be offered in Computer Science and Geospatial Technology domain. Admission to this course will be done through marks secured in IIIT Hyderabad UGEE.

IIIT Hyderabad Launches Dual Degree Course in Computer Science, Geospatial Technology

New Delhi: The International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad has launched a new Dual Degree Course that combines a Bachelor of Technology (Honours) in Computer Science with a Master of Science for the academic session 2024-25.

As per IIIT Hyderabad, the dual degree program will be offered in Computer Science and Geospatial Technology through marks secured in IIIT Hyderabad's Undergraduate Entrance Examination (UGEE)

The program is open for candidates who have completed their class 12th with Math, Physics, and Chemistry. For this academic year, the last date to apply for IIIT Hyderabad Admission 2024 through UGEE was April 01, 2024. The entrance test will be conducted on May 04, 2024.

Key Highlights of IIIT Hyderabad Dual Degree Course 2024

As a part of the course curriculum, participants will learn about the geospatial industry and how to solve complex cross-disciplinary problems with computing and geospatial knowledge. The course will cover cutting-edge technologies in Computer Science and Geospatial Technology areas.

Informing about the newly launched dual degree course, Prof K S Rajan, Registrar and Head of Lab for Spatial Informatics said, "Students with a dual degree in computer science and spatial technology have a myriad of promising career prospects across academia, research, and industry. Graduates can anticipate opportunities in diverse sectors such as urban planning, environmental management, agriculture, and disaster management, reflecting the growing industry demand for their expertise”.

Prof P J Narayanan, Director, IIIT-H said, "Geospatial technologies are going to play a strong role in the coming years as data referenced to specific places is created in plenty. Services based on digital maps have transformed our lives significantly in the past decade, but what we have seen is just the beginning. I expect the graduates of this program to play lead roles in making map-based analytics and services for the use of policymakers, planners, and the common citizen in the future."
