In 3rd semester internship opportunities open up and in 4th year with projects and resume students are elligible for placements. Many companies visit and placement percentage is very good with a decent avergae package and offcampus placement opportunities are very good

Placements: NIT Rourkela, like other NITs, usually has a decent track record of campus placements. Companies from various sectors typically visit the campus to hire students for internships and full-time positions. The placement cell helps coordinate these opportunities and prepares students for interviews and placement processes.

The prefinal year is for the internship offered by the college placement cell and the final year is for placement. 100 % of record-breaking placement given to the students by the placement committee for 5 years.

Placements generally do occur in the 7th semester and as you can see in the previous year's trends, we can conclude that there is a high chance of getting placed once you enter this campus and all you need for better placement is the relevant skills.
It's a top NIT.So placements are average. From our branch around 11 lpa went highest and the average was 6 Lpa. From another branch like ei, cse ,ece,ee people had got many top placements like Microsoft, Google etc. Overall college average is 9 lpa and almost 95% of students are placed.
