- Attandance - 85% attandance is very disgusting.. i never heard 85% in another collage except nit rourkela,
- They are so strict in their grading and failing students, it's terrible.

Placement Experience:
The college provides placement opportunities to their students in the final year. They also get internship opportunities at the end of second year in non core mainly. Many good companies like ibm , Microsoft, jindal steel come.

- NITR is one of the premier national level institutions for technology in the country .

- I do not like attendance criteria which is minimum 85 %.
- Some professor is very serious and does not give good TA marks .
Placement Experience:
Approx more than 90 % students are placed in NITR .from 7th semester students become eligible for campous placement .There are many companies that are visited in NITR like flipkart ,Amazon ,Google ,Microsoft ,Imfosis , Tata , Vedanta ,Nalko etc . Highest packege in my brach is 18 LPA and minimus is 5 LPA.

- Hostel Faciliteis are quite good and good enough.

- 85% attendance criteria feels frustating sometimes.
- Less number of outing locations near the college.
Placement Experience:
Almost 100% of the students who sit for the placements get placed by the end. Some students go for higher studies or appear in civil services examinations and gate-like examinations. Also, companies come for on-campus internships from 3rd year.

- Campus Life is beautiful. There's lots of space in the campus to cycle and enjoy a scenic view.
- Hostel is vast with 1000 rooms. It is a nice place where I spend most of my time

- Exams are stressful and consecutive always.

Students become eligible after 6th semester. I don't have much idea as I'm in 4th semester currently. But recruiters like mathworks, Oracle, BNY mellon, Barclays, texas instruments, qualcot, L&T, jindal steels etc are some names. Highest package last year was of 1 crore from ceramic department. In metallurgy around 70% student get placed. 100% placement was from ceramic and food processing

Course Curriculum Overview:
The course follows a bi-semester structure, with mid-semester and end-semester exams constituting 30% and 50% of the total marks respectively, while the remaining 20% is based on class performance. there's scope to enhance practical experiences and teaching methods to enrich the learning journey.

- Attendance and academic policies are a bit hectic
- Mess food offered in hostels is not that good
Placement Experience:
Students are allowed for placements from 7th semester. Average package is 15lpa and highest package is 55lpa. Big companies do come for placement and almost has a 100 percent placement record for some branches. Companies such as microsoft, flipkart, ZS, accenture, TATA, shell, deloitte, intel, qualcomm, etc visit for placements.

Many companies will visit for our college. For b.tech, 3rd year onwards you will get internships .we can able to get job off campus with huge packages . we have good placement on campus with good packages

The placement of the college is quite impressive, the Average Package of the college in 2023 was 12 lakh and the highest package was 83 lakh, In the 5th semester all the students have to compulsorily do a summer internship, In every branch there is almost 95% students get placed .

What is your review of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NIT-RKL)?
A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience
- NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
- The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
- Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
- The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
- Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
- The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
- The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
- The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
- The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
- Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
- The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
