- Strong Placements: The first thing anybody looks in a college before taking admission in any college or university is placements and the placement scene in any NIT Hamirpur is quite good. the institute brings the top companies for placements.
- Good Infrastructure:the campus is surrounded with beautiful mountain ranges which creates a peaceful and silent environment that is perfect for studying and giving rise to new innovation. all the building of each department is up to the mark.
Dislikes
- Course Load: the dual degree program cna be quite demanding and sometime the workload can fell as a burden.
- Social Interaction: this might vary depending on your personality but i have found that forming close friendship within department can be challenging at times. there is a huge competetion among the fellows which is also create a bad environment.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The NIT Hamirpur curriculum provides a solid foundation in CS and enginnering fundamentals. but it quite outdated in terms of real world application and industry world.Overall it is good for developing basic knowledge.
Placement Experience :
As a student currently enrolled in the dual degree program, I can't speak about placements from personal experience. However, based on info available online and discussin with seniors here's what about the placements: Students typically become eligible to participate in campus placements starting from their sixth semester, by securing a decent cgpa which vary by taking the average cgpa of every batch. 1. Placement Percentage:NIT Hamirpur biasts a good placements record with a reported placement rate of aroiund 72.65% for the batch 2022-23 batch. 2. Companies Visited: Top recruiters includes companies like: Accenture, Infosys, Godrej, Samsung, IBM and more 3.Packages Offered: The average package offered can vary depending in the company and the student's specialisation. However, reports suggest the average package for BTech students during placements 2023 was around INR 10.3 LPA, with the highest package of INR 173 LPA.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Recently the tution fees is incresed for the students taking admission in 2023 in nit hamirpur form 10000/-. But it doesn't increases ragularly. the overall cost of my course is nearly about 12 lakhs. The very good thing about NIT hamirpur is about it provides many relaxation on tuition fees basis on family income and caste reservation.
Campus Life :
There are many festivals or events the runs in NIT Hamirpur annually but the two main events names are: 1. Hillfair (cultural fest) 2. Nimbus (Technical Fest) The library has vast collection of books and online resources. All classroom are quite big and have all facilities and technologies like: ACs , projectors etc. Campus offers all facilities and opportunity for sports and extracurricular activities.
Hostel Facilities :
The rooms provided in hostel is quite tight or low in space every room just have 3 or 4 beds and almirah and nothing else. The meal quality & menu depends on the mess as every hostel have their own mess. overall it is good. Only problem with the hostels are scarcity of water in summer season. Hostels are more affordable then the rented rooms or PG.
Admission :
The JEE is the only way through which you can get admission in NIT hamirpur. You have to secure a good percentile to get admission in this college. Yes, you can get the benefits of caste reservation which gives you some relaxation in getting admission in this college on low percentile.
Faculty :
The faculty to student ration in NIT hamirpur is depens on the departement and course. But overall it is very good. The faculty here are highly qualified,all faculties are holding PHDs in their respective fields. The faculties are free to contact you can contact faculty anytime during college hours.
