Dislikes

Hamirpur is a small district hence there are not many places to visit in hamirpur specifically... although there are several destinations to visit except hamirpur but not in hamirpur.
In timing for all students is 9:30 pm....I think that's a limitation of being here just due to the reason that there are wild animals in around the jungle surrounding hamirpur.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I'm my year of admission the curriculum is the old one which mainly includes basic knowledge of mechanical engineering and some advantamce stuff but not on latest stuff ie what's going on world of tech now. But this curriculum is changed now and the institute is still working towards the improvement in courses design.

Class Size : 120Course Fees : INR 215000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

our college have tirupati with several other colleges and companies which you can avail through recommendation of your professors or by applying into those colleges or companies. Institute like IIT mandi , IISC etc are there to provide you internship.

Placement Experience :

Campus placement is decent. Not very good not very bad. Highest percentage of placement is from mechanical engineering. Heighest package CTC is generally of CS department. A lot of students also sits in off campus placement and some starts preparing for govt exams or for GATE.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

If you are from general category then the tution fees structure is as follows: Tuition fees - 76750 Hostel fees - 25000 (even sem) 35000 (odd sem) If you are from any category then the tuition fees is almost half and same criteria is for those with incomes less than 5 lac and less than 1 lac.

Campus Life :

Overall feel of the college is very good. Walking around the campus is my fav thing do and socializimg with my other friends and seniors is something I'll really miss after college. Clubs here are decent, it's more for socializing reason and you can have quite a good time at clubs and societies.

Hostel Facilities :

Different hostels for different year and seperate Hostels for boys and girls. Hostel facility is decent. Food provided is decent not very good but not very bad specials are served during weekends or during some festivals or hostel night. Desserts are regularly provides, snacks are very good. Except food sports facilty is provided common room with a tv and a study room is provided.

Hostel Fee : INR 30000 per year

Admission :

Admission is given on the basis of rank obtained in jee mains through jossa counseling. Cutoff is something you can get at any website. But the general trend is like it's heighest for CS then ECE then electrical then mechanical then mechanical then civil then material and other branches.

Faculty :

All of the faculties are very well qualified but if we talk about some teachers who are very supportive then they does exist here...and they are really really helpful but that's for research purposes or if you are here for your mtech or you want to publish a research paper. I'm in mechanical department and yes there are very good and helpful teachers although there are some khadoos teachers too but their numbers is very very less.

NIT Hamirpur Review

Placement Experience:

The college provides a quite decent placement. This year highest package was 2 Cr and previous year highest package was 1.73 Cr . More than 40 companies visited.Top recruiters were Samsung ,CRED, Syska,Croma,Oracle , Accenture etc. More than 80 percent students get placed and after my degree I am also thinking of getting placed .

The placement drive begins from the beginning of 7th semester for the four year bachelor's programs. The average package offered in my stream .i.e. Mechanical engineering is about 8-9 lakhs per year. Like from the the 7th semester we are eligible to sit in placement process. Companies like vegazva, khanna paper mill, shree cement etc. companies visited in campus. And the highest package as like i mentioned the company visited in campus giving us 4lpa for 2-3 years then it is increased as per the candidate performance.
