Clubs( we have around 10-12 clubs and they organise at least an event every weekend)
Sports facilities are exceptional ( only con is no specific coaches,we have a pti)

Not much connectivity to the city, campus is 8km away from main city and the Una city is also not much developed, there arent many clubs or dj's, only a few that too 20 km away from the college
Very strict attendance policy, all medical leaves, family functions, personal absents etc are to be included under the 25% criteria. Though you are to be complete your left out classes after end sems, it does feel kinda hectic

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course bcuz of the rapidly growing demand of ai and computer related technologies in today's workforce. Talking about the student to faculty ratio, its around 15:1 and most of the faculties are phd holders, leaving aside a few all the teachers have great teaching skills and actually have the desires and commitment to transfer their knowledge to the students, exams are also conducted approximately every 2 months, they are as followed, ut, ct, end sems, the ut and ct are of 8 and 20 marks so they are not that stressfull, u can score more than average ny studying the night before.

Class Size : 68Course Fees : INR 250000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

All students are required to complete a 5 month internship in their 6th semester, some companies visit the college but most of the students apply for off campus internships in companies like grow, Flipkart, American express, amazon etc, and they are mostly paid. If a student is unable to get an internship at a company, they are to work in projects under the faculty but many students rather avoid this.

Placement Experience :

Students are eligible for placements in the 7th semester, companies like amazon, american express, Microsoft, delloit etc have visited the campus previous year, and more than 90% oftl the students have been placed. The average package for all the brances was around 14 lakhs and highest was 60 lakhs. After getting the degree my plan is to work as an analyst.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The tution fee though high can be reduced using many scholarships like nsp, all state scholarships and many others. The net cost of four years comes around 13 lakhs. This covers many equipments and items that are provided to you by the college during your stay as the money is deducted from your mess advance.

Campus Life :

There are 3 fests that happen every year now, cultural fest, sports fest and technical fest. The incubation club are going to launch their own fest this year. There is a Library which has decent quantity and quality of books and research journals, the teachers also do provide pdfs for books and research papers. Their are brand new labs for every field and projectors in classrooms. Classrooms are air conditioned. Talking about sports, the college apart from its gym, has excellent facilities, 2 synthetic basketball courts, 2 badminton courts(tile) and 2 table tennis tables each in all 3 hostels, a cricket field, a football field surrounded by a track, and even a lawn tennis court as well designated grounds for kabbadi and kho kho. Their aren't any social or political groups like frats as we are made to sign an affidavit during admission to prevent this, their are mess and hostel committees to make any complaints and enquires.

Hostel Facilities :

Large spacious rooms of three, free 5g wifi 24X7, and cleaning per week. Their are 2 washing machines(automatic and semi automatic)for around 150 students, 12 washrooms and 8 bathrooms each floor( every hostel has 3 floors)since the hostels are newly built so it gives good vibes. Their are two types of mess, veg and nonveg, the veg mess serves your typical stereotyped mess food but the non veg mess serves home like food, i have been to IITs and they might have more varieties in their food but ours is much better in terms of quality. The registration for hostel takes place during the college admission and cost is the same as all government institutions (80000 per year). All students are required to stay in hostels only so their is no chance for renting a pg or room.

Hostel Fee : INR 86000 per year

Admission :

I took admission in the computer science and engineering branch by securing a rank of 32k in the jee mains exam of 2023. I got the seat in the ews category in the first round of csab councelling. Intrested candidates can find the application form, fees and other details on jeemain.nta.nic.in.

NIT Hamirpur Review

Placement Experience:

The college provides a quite decent placement. This year highest package was 2 Cr and previous year highest package was 1.73 Cr . More than 40 companies visited.Top recruiters were Samsung ,CRED, Syska,Croma,Oracle , Accenture etc. More than 80 percent students get placed and after my degree I am also thinking of getting placed .

Like from the the 7th semester we are eligible to sit in placement process. Companies like vegazva, khanna paper mill, shree cement etc. companies visited in campus.
