Course Curriculum Overview :
The student-to-teacher ratio stands at approximately 15:1, with a majority of teachers holding Ph.D. degrees. The faculty is supportive and proficient. IIIT Una also invites faculty for different guest lectures. The curriculum is well-designed and relevant, which makes us industry-ready. The college exams are a bit difficult, but it is easy to pass due to the average system used. The evaluation of exams is based on relative grading system which is awesome. The calendar for the academic year is always fixed and college exams include CT1, CT2 (20 marks each) and end semester examination of 100 marks.
Internships Opportunities :
Our college IIIT Una has always dedicated a complete semester (6th Semester) for student internships so that we can gain industry experience before sitting in Placement interviews. Most of the students get internships with maximum stipend reaching upto INR 70000 per month.
Placement Experience :
The B.Tech. placements of IIIT Una are quite good and they are growing exponentially every passing year. Referring the placement statistics of the year 2023, the average package stood at INR 15 LPA (compared to INR 12.1 LPA in 2022). The highest package offered during the placement drive 2023 was INR 46.5 LPA (on-campus) and INR 60 LPA (off-campus). Therefore, an improving trend was witnessed in the placements over the past years during IIIT Una B.Tech placements. The top recruiters are: Amazon, LinkedIn, BharatPe, Expedia, Goldman Sachs, Apache, C-DoT, Infosys, Deloitte, Jio, etc. Almost 90% students get placed in the college. The placements are coordinated by the training and placement cell of our institute, CDC (Career Development Cell). Also, there is an entire semster (6th semester) dedicated by the institute for the student internships.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure for B.Tech. programme at IIIT Una for 2023-2027 includes two types of fees: Institute Fees(125000) and Hostel Fees(43190), both are to be paid per semster. Unlike NITs,IITs, there are no direct scholarships provided by IIITs. But, one can opt for different Government Scholarships at the Central or State level as per your eligibilty.
Campus Life :
IIIT Una is present in the elite list of IIITs which have their own permanent campus which is located in Saloh, Una. The entire campus is equipped by Wi-Fi access. There are two blocks: Admin Block and Academic Block. Classes are conducted in Academic Block. All the classrooms and labs are equipped well with the state-of-the-art equipment. The campus provides all sports facilities which include Athletics Track, Football Ground, Cricket Ground, Volleyball, Lawn Tennis, Basketball and Badminton Courts along with indoor Table Tennis, Chess, Carrom facilities. The IIIT Una Library ,present in Academic Block, has a vast collection of books(textbooks/ references) related to the curriculum. Study rooms facility is also provided. There are various fests and events conducted throughout the year. The annual fests include: YALGAAR, MERAKI and MRIDANG. Also, there are various student clubs formed in our college: FORCE, AAVESH, EPMOC, PICXCEL, EIC, EUNOIA, ZENITH, ASTRAL, TRAVISTA, ECOVA, SARGAM.
Hostel Facilities :
At present, IIIT Una campus boasts of three fully furnished and large hostels namely Jatharagini, Bhutagni, and Chitagni. The hostels are far more superior when compared to other IITs,NITs,IIITs due to its newly-built campus. The hostels have all necessary facilities. The rooms are three-seater, bathrooms & toilets are present at each floor, solar water heating system, guards and CCTV cameras for security, outdoor badminton courts and indoor table tennis hall, mess at ground floor, washing machine for laundry purposes, medical kit facilities. Mess and cooking arrangements are quite hygienic. Quality and taste of food is good (especially the non-veg mess). Also there is a gym room present in Dhatvagni Transit House (Guest House). Overall, the hostels have best possible facilities. Also, there is a newly opened cafeteria in the campus where we can go to avoid mess food. The campus is located in rural area, 10kms away from Una city, thus, having a quiet lifestyle and relaxed environment.
Admission :
Candidates willing to take admission to the B.Tech. programme at IIIT Una must have passed Class 12 with PCM with a minimum of 75% aggregate in these subjects. One can get admission in the B.Tech. programme at IIIT Una by appearing for JEE Mains Examination and achieving the required cut-off rank for different branches. The branches offered in B.Tech. programme are CSE,ECE and IT. The admission process includes appearing for JEE Mains Examination, followed by counselling processes conducted by JoSAA and CSAB(Special Rounds), which are based on JEE Mains Rank. Candidates selected in the counselling have to report to the admisson cell at IIIT Una for document verification and fee payment leading to Final Seat Allotment. There are reservation benefits provided in the JEE Mains cut-off as there are different rank lists created based on category.
