  • Zero campus life since iit goa doesn’t has its own campus
  • No sports participation as it just has its basketball court . For other sports we have to share with GeC

Course Curriculum Overview :

Firstly I choose CSE as it has better placement opportunities and I have a bit of coding experience as well. About faculty, they are well educated, qualified from renowned universities and have good teaching experience (5 to 10 years). Since our iit has the lowest number of students, here the student-to-teacher ratio is exceptionally good (11:1) which you will not get in any of the iits.

Internships Opportunities :

Since I am a first-year student I don't have much information about internships offered here but as I have heard from seniors it's about 30 to 40k and if you are not interned you get an opportunity to be with Iit Goa's research team. In order to know about Iit Goa's various research projects you can visit their official website

Placement Experience :

At the end of the 8th sem students are eligible for campus placements and before that i.e. from the 7th semester college offers students for research purposes and companies come in for internships. As it is a 3rd gen IIT only leaving some very reputed companies like Apple, Google, Amazon etc others all have recruited so or the other from our college. Here the highest international package offered was1.12cpa which was off-campus placement and domestic 60lpa and the average package here at my branch (CSE) is 22lpa (according to the year 2022). There percentage here of students getting offered is 100% of Cse and around 99.2% including all 4 branches. After degree, my main goal is to find a job in a top company and not with a high salary because as time passes I will learn a lot more in a top company eater the one offers the highest package (my main goal is on the job)

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

About cost, as we know each Iit has the same fees i.e. 12 to 15 lakh for four years but those who have a family income of less than 5 lakh benefited with remission where the fees are reduced almost to half the total amount. And being a government college if you compare it with private colleges you will feel that you are studying for literally no cost. Various private and government scholarships are provided to students wherein the remaining fees also get waived. And if you have exceptionally well cpi then keep in mind every funding organisation has an eye on you. The same means for companies as well, just give your best rest to them. Since I am in the first year I don't have much information about stipends but I have heard that you get around 30 to 40k stipends from seniors

Campus Life :

This is the part where I have to calm down my brain and stop thinking about this point and the reason is we don't have campus. I mean after hearing this you will not understand or some will be shocked. We are currently residing and studying at GEC College. We have just 5 lecture halls in total 1 for the common class btw all branches and 4 for each specified branch. We have our library in a small bungalow I mean very small which can accommodate only 25 people at a time. You can expect only one basketball court and nothing else as for other sports we share with gec people as it is their amenities. You can visit the IIT Goa website to see what our seniors have made, and achieved.

Hostel Facilities :

Our hostel room is well maintained since it is a 3rd gen IIT as they are newly made. It has a double sharing room. Each floor has 10 bathrooms and 10 washrooms also having washing machines. The meal hear is decent not that good. Like every other Iit has it is the same here as well. The hostel is very affordable as it is a government college so you don't have to worry about it. Since I am a BTech student we are restricted to staying in a given hostel and not allowed to stay in the PG

Admission :

Firstly you have to qualify for Jee adv and be in the top 17k rank in Jee adv to secure a seat in this IIT for which next-level dedication and hard work are required. You can find all the details of admission on the josaa website of NTA. Regarding reservations, I generally don't have much information regarding them. The admission process of josaa is top-notch, no complaints regarding it

After 7th semester you are eligible for placements by the end of 8th semester companies will be approaching college and jobs will be offered Different companies approach and they take interviews according to how many students enrolled for their company For me different companies like ultra tech and deep builders and assmass construction approached and offered of average of 20 to 25,000 salary as a beginner Highest average package would be around 35,000 and lowest is around 15,000 Around 70 to 85% students gets placement. Rest of the students mostly go for their own business or different private companies My plan after the degree is to continue with my dad's business which is road work/ pwd contractor

Placement Experience:

Final students are eligible for placements. Companies such as turtle mint, findem, Nokia, IFB, Samsung, Adani power, HDFC Bank, Tesco, Upskill, ONGC, Jio, and many more. Last year almost everyone got placed. Average package is 10 LPA. This year though placements were not as expected because of economic depression. Even after the placements, lay offs have become common. Hence to cope up with the competition we need to keep upskilling.

The placements have been quite decent and have had 100% placements in the past. The average comes to be a bit average but the highest package so far might be above 44LPA. The main branchea company hire students from are CSE ECE and EEE. The number of students getting placed from CSE and ECE are very good and have good salary packages around 10LPA

Placement Experience:

IIT Goa offers campus placements to its students. Students become eligible for campus placements in their final year of study, i.e., in the 7th or 8th semester. Several reputed companies visit IIT Goa for campus placements, including Amazon, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, IBM, Tata Steel, Larsen & Toubro, Adani Power, etc. Higher placements offer is of 1.2cr and average placement offers are16-25 lac per annum. The percentage of students getting placed during campus placements at IIT Goa is quite high, with around 90% of students getting placed every year. The remaining students generally opt for higher studies or pursue entrepreneurship. In case no campus placement is offered, students can explore other options for employability, such as applying for jobs through job portals, professional networking sites, or by directly contacting companies. They can also consider pursuing higher education or research in their field of interest or starting their own business.
