Remarks :

You will have to appear in jEE MAIN exam ( Conducted by National Testing Agency ) and after clearing that, you will have to appear in JEE ADVANCED exam (conducted by IITKGP itself). The jee main application form fee is Rupees 650 and the exam is computer-based. There are Reservations for backward classes of the society.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum includes 8 Semesters of 6 months each and is to be completed in 4 years. I chose the Mechanical Engineering course as I always loved Machines and wanted to Invent one. I am following my passion in my this premier Institute IITKGP. The Student and faculty ratio is about 1 teacher for 40 Students. The Professors are brilliant and have years of teaching experience.

Class Size : 60Course Fees : INR 154000 per year

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The Fees of Mechanical Engineering is 150k Rupees per year excluding any type of accomodation and mess charges. The hostel fee is also around 1.1 Lakh rupees annually. The fees differ for SC and ST Students because of their Reservations. The Scholarship Schemes are available for Students with good Academic records.

Campus Life :

The Campus view is very beautiful here and the locality of IIT Kharagpur is very clean and mesmerizing. The Social life at college is very positive with lots of good experiences with students throughout the country. The College library provides us with almost every book that we need for our Studies. Basketball is the most played Sport here and many students from the college played it at the national level.

Overall a Standard College; have parallels to its parent college FIEM

Placement Experience:

At the end of the 6th Semester many MNCs and startups like CTS, TCS, Virtusa, Wipro, etc visit our campus for internship opportunities as well as pre-placement offers. Most of the students do crack some or other internship opportunities and get in-hand industry experience. For our batch the highest offer we received is 7LPA and the average package ranges at about 4.5 - 3.5LPA ! Almost everyone does get placed, but the average ranges at about 70%-80%.
