Remarks :

Positive are so many there, but there is little bit negetivity to be said. Because I told previously hostel structures are said to be so poor and for job opportunities its not so good. Not so many companies are visit through there.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Its very good. Exam structure is also very good an well maintained by the supervisor in our college total 8th sem is there and all the sem belongs different subjects and marks and student sitted in different rooms and supervise by four respected sir in every class room.

Placement Experience :

Here's the point that comes the last in our college. Every opportunities is so nice, but for placement is little bit backward. And no stipen in b.tech scholarship.not so many companies came and visit through our college.

College Events :

There are so many event happening there.like educational, sports, cultural. Each anf every event is well celebrated in jgec like educational event meaning our college represnts our students in higher places.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee structure is different gor different streams in jgec.meaning each semester fees is different and their are hostel fees, library fees etc,.but in 2014 it may nee feasible but at that time it may be little expensive.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Yes, their are scholarship but not for all the students, those who are brilliant and semester number above 8.5 so they got the scholarships and their are minority scholarship for the students.so its good fo them.

Campus Life :

All are mentioned is well established there. Labs are too good, every instruments in are in their lab and every sports are well organised by the students.its good and said to be better for each students.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel infrastructure is not so good as mentioned before.because in case of hostel , the hostels are so many years old.and for this case its not so well to stay in yhe hostels for the college.amd for fooding its so poor, and the quality of food is so worst.

External Expense : Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Alumni/Alumna :

Yes, they are so helpful and alumni network is too good every year celebrated a a alumni event organised by present past and the senior students of jgec. Well organised programmes happend each year.

Admission :

I got ranked in joint examination then I got a call for admission process. My rank was 371 then after jadavapur and shivpur fullfill, then I got admitted in jalpaiguri government engineering college.

Faculty :

Just hats off to the faculty of jgec college.they are so helpful for the students.and teaching skill is so good and helpful for the students. They teach us the best way we know.and behaviour is too good to be mentioned. And they know each and every students of every batch.

The most honest and unbiased review of IIEST Shibpur

Placement Experience:

Students from 7th semester onwards are elegible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visits for placements are Google, microsoft, amazon, pwc, TI, accenture, PPEL, etc. A total of 920 recruiters were there which offered 753 offers to the students and out of them around 75-78% were placed. The highest placement package was offered by microsoft for 51 lpa as PPO to 14 students and the role was IDC. The average package is around 7.5 lpa. I am planning to appear in GATE exam and go for masters in IITs after completion of my degree where i will be persuing my further studies in transportation engineering.

From seventh semester the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies visited are like TCS, Cognizant, infosys, mindtree and many others. The avg pkg is 6 lpa and highest is 12 lpa. 90 percent students gets placed.

Overall only one thing is important is about hardwork with smart work . You have to work on your skills rest college is there to help you to show the path from your college to carrier .

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester onwards companies are coming to visit in our colleges . You will give exams in four phases that are coding , technical, aptitude and after qualifying all simple interview would be taken . Just develop your skills then surely you will get job . Highest package is about 10 lakh per annum and average is about 5 to 6 lakh per annum. The percentages of getting placed are about 60 to 70 percent . Just keep in mind that choose any language like c ++ , java , python and become pro into it . You will definitely get job .

Very appropriate college for all kind of students !! I recommend it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.

Remarks:

College was good in terms of studies and many more. But now it fails in giving placement. Most of the students are still unemployed. Only 30% of the students are placed from college. Others have to find there own jobs.

Remarks:

As seeing the college from outside i expected each room tobe AC but unfortunately it's not during the summer days it's pretty hot in the top floors but it's bearable canteen food items are cheap in respect to outside and wifi isn't free and I hate that.
