Remarks :

The university is adjacent to the Himalayas, making weekend travels to hill stations like Mussourie, Manali, and Dehradun a terrific option. There are two major college festivals: Thomso (October Cultural Fest) and Cognizance (November) (Technical Fest in March). This course appealed to me because I enjoy math and Roorkee is not distant from my house.

JEE Advanced and JoSAA Counselling

Course Curriculum Overview :

My passion in design and engineering drew me to architecture in general, and the numerous chances afforded by IIT Roorkee influenced my decision to enrol in the programme. The student-to-faculty ratio was around 1:20. All of the professors were highly qualified, having Ph.D.s and years of teaching experience at prestigious universities. Every semester, the tests were held twice. The grading was based on the relative technique and was competitive.

Internships Opportunities :

Apart from architectural and interior design offices, companies such as L&T, Dar Al Hansa, and others come for internships. For research and training, the institute has signed memorandums of understanding with a number of Indian and foreign universities. Because design is such a subjective and passion-driven discipline, students frequently prefer to apply to businesses and roles that they are more aligned with. I didn't participate in any of the placement and training office's internship programmes. With the portfolio, it is relatively easier to acquire a fantastic opportunity for yourself.

Placement Experience :

Around 80% of the students were assigned. The highest package CTC was above 35 lacs per year, with the average being around 13 lacs per year. The majority of the companies offered software developer, data scientist, data analyst, and graphic designer positions.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

In comparison to private colleges, it is very feasible. Government College is the best in the country. The college accepts all forms of payment, including DD, Online RTGS, and others. No, there will be additional admission fees to pay. Admission is solely based on merit as determined by the JEE Rank.

Fees and Financial Aid :

Yes, through the dean of student welfare, I applied for a merit-based scholarship. The notice board served as a source of information.

Campus Life :

Although there is a lack of gender diversity on campus, there is no discrimination based on caste, gender, color, religion, or other factors. There are numerous extracurricular activities and cultural clubs available, such as dramatics, dance, and music, which offer students a platform to demonstrate and further develop their talent.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel rooms are large and bright. Overall, the hostels are clean, including a stationery shop, fruit shop, washing machine room, gym, and television area. Every afternoon, an ironing lady and a beauty parlor lady sit to cater to the requirements of the girls. Canteens are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week to ensure that students are never hungry, and the cost is low. The mess provides a well-balanced diet that, while not comparable to home cooking, is adequate, and includes a sweet with dinner every day (yum!).

Faculty :

Some of the professors here were very amazing. They are quite knowledgeable and teach in an effective manner, although some of the instructors are not. It could be because of the manner they convey the topics. Except for 2-3 subjects, the course curriculum was applicable.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I believe Architecture course curriculum is pretty heactic but one thing I dislike here is that all the optional courses are made compulsory and we end up having 8-9 subjects per semester. The curriculum is available on the college website.

Placement Experience:

As being an IIT the placement of the college are superb and as per the standards of IIT. The college has a record of 100% placement. Architect Hafeez Contractor, C P Kukreja Associates, Shilpa Architects, DLF, Christopher Charles Benninger Architects are one of the top recruitment companies for B.Arch. The placement committee plays a very important role during the placement round of the campus. The placement committee is very supportive and totally guides us during every round of recruitment. The highest package was around 45 LPA and the average package was around 16 LPA.

Placements are usually good for all departments, 4 year course students become eligible for placements in their 3rd year, 5-year course students become eligible for placements in their 4th year. Almost all major companies visit the campus average package varies depending on the department and profile from 6 LPA To 1 Cr. Almost everyone who opts for the placements gets placed. I however didn't sit for the placements so my information on these subjects is second hand.
