Remarks :
I have applied for various programs on the Punjab premises. I applied to Punjab University, NITs for Btech Admission in Computer Engineering Department. I was unable to meet the criteria kept by them. After that, I pursued with BSc. Agriculture Honours. I was eligible with the criteria and I got the good JEE rank that was upto the mark. I also applied for the EWS quota but seats are less so I was not able to select for that quota but I got admission for General Quota.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Semester examinations are there and as well as there are MST (Mid-Semester Exams) that would add to the Semester Marks. The difficulty level of exams was average and exams are only theoretical and less practical or conceptual questions asked. I often passed the exams with above 40 marks out of 50. Results also depend on your Attendance, and The Internal Assessment.
Internships Opportunities :
There are many companies that offered internships like Infosys, HCL and NEWGEN. Stipend for all of the companies was around 12000 and also provide accommodation to the interns. I believe Infosys is a very good company and provides the best training in the industry. Projects you need to scan was done under 2nd year training. If there are any personal projects you can explore them as well.
Placement Experience :
The placement record is 70%. There were many companies that are mass recruiters for our college and have permanent relationships with our college. They hire the students in bulk only. There are some companies which offer a huge package but they pick only a few of the students which are extraordinary in their skills. The overall placement record is good and the average package was around 5 lacs. That would be good to start your career and still better than no job.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I haven't seen any fee hike policy during my three years of tenure and the Cost to study in the internationally accepted universities is very less and fee structures are very pocket friendly to every family. Moreover, they provide plenty of scholarships to help you to reduce the burden of the fees if you have them. I studied there with a 100% scholarship and I just need to pay the tution fee and not any other expenses. The scholarships are purely on the basis of your academic results and your family. economic conditions. If you are from the sports quota and you are bringing laurels to the university and then you will get some rebate in the semester.
Campus Life :
Yes, There were many technical clubs present there where you can take part in organising or participating level. Cultural events are there and many Punjabi celebrities came over there to promote their films and songs. I have seen some of the shootings in my university and also seen some of the mehfils of the Satinder Sartaj. There were many events in which you can take active part and also win cash prizes and memos.
Hostel Facilities :
The registration process for the hostel is simple. Hostel allotment is on the basis of First come First serve and your marks or the rank. Once you are eligible and you got the name on the allotment list and it becomes your second home. The hostel is very much affordable and the cost is very less but at the expense of the old architecture and unhygienic. Overall experience is good but very much cheaper than PG and Flats.
