Remarks :

Research exposure at IITK is top notch and it gave me a chance to try out different things, from my parent department - Aerospace to doing projects in Computer Science as well. The environment at IITK makes you never stop learning things and explore your passions.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Why Aerospace? :I always had a deep interest for the field of Aerospace and IITK having the best Aerospace faculty along with an Airstrip of its own was like cherry on top. Male to Female ratio: 10:1Exams: Basically if you manage to just attend the classes regularly, then a 8+ cpi is fairly an easy task.

Class Size : 64Course Fees : INR 900000 per year

Placement Experience :

Almost everyone gets placed with decent packages. There isn't much difference in placements in terms of what branch you have, and it is mostly your skill and preparation based. I got placed through the campus placements only in Jaguar Land Rover as a Software Enginner and as of now I am really looking forward to join the next month.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

There are numerous scholarships available on the basis of Parental income and merit basis. Basically, if your parental income is less than 6lpa, then first of all you'll have to just pay around 50% of your original fees, plus with the Merit cum Means scholarship, you'll even get tution fee as a refund alongside 11k as a pocket money. A lot of students manage to get this scholarship very easily.

Campus Life :

Campus life is a thing people at IITK boast the most about. From one of the best cultural fests to no attendance policy, it gives enormous freedom to the students here. Also, people also manage to get themselves involved in quite a lot of extracurricular activities due to presence of a whole students Gymkhana body, which involves different clubs from Music, Fine Arts to even a Adventure Club which takes people on a hike twice a year.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostels are compulsory for everyone. And there isn't any extra hostel fees, you just need to give a Mess Establishment charge every year which is around 5k.

Masters in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 2023-2035

Placement Experience:

During the third semester of the master of technology, students are eligible to sit in campus placements. In the Electrical Engineering Department most of the top semiconductor companies like Intel qualcomm, micron, Texas instruments, onsemi, cadence, amd visited this year. Number of offers made is 80 out of 140 candidates. The highest package is 49 LPA by Qualcomm. 60 per cent got placed this year due to poor market conditions. I am going to work in a semiconductor company after completing my degree.

THE BEAUTIFUL CAMPUS OF IIT KANPUR

Placement Experience:

Placements of IITK are very good. Even during recession the average package was 15lpa. Highest package was 60lpa and lowest was 12lpa. If someone is not getting placed then professors help in their own domain. After degree, I am planning to work in a product based company after degree.

Campus Placements are great, there is a market slowdown but most(70%) of them from mtech got placed this year and still the placements are going on. The requirement for the programme include graduation degree in engineering or B.Tech with minimum of 50 per cent marks. Online admission form should be filled and submitted attached with necessary documents. On the basis of scores obtained in the entrance exam admission will be granted.

Engineering in the city of Gods

Remarks:

The one thing which is deteriorating the Masters level education in India is the double-mindedness of most of the GATE aspirants. Those with lower ranks join institutes of national importance such as ours just for the sake of the monthly stipend and the time they would get for GATE preparation. Such students waste the opportunity for someone else who is really interested in research, but could not get there due to low GATE score. It is high time that we prioritize our needs and act accordingly; it can only boost the research temperament among the student community.
