Remarks :
Poaitive - we have a peaceful environmnet and a rhealm of opportunities in the college. We usually have resourses and platform for doing almost anything we want to do, any skill that we want to learn. Negative - there is a lot of social pressure int the college and also people are anxious about their future.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum is good, every semester you have mid sems and end sems exams and a few class tests depending upon the course. The curriculum is different for different departments and one can choose courses from other departments as additionals.
Placement Experience :
Yes instiute has many placement and internship opportunities and also you get a decent amount of stipend. These are done through CDC or Career development council of our college which helps in organising interviews in college itself.
College Events :
There are many events organised and celebrated in our college like illu on diwali. On diwali we have illumination done by each hall of residence which requires months of hardwork by students and also rangolis. We have spring fest and kshitiz also in the month of jan.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
It is feasible and also financial assistance is available to people who cant afford it and also education loans are also provided. So fees is not an issue in iit kgp. We have many alumni funded scholarship also.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Institute offers lots of scholarships like people with annual income 5 lakh or less have tuition fee waivered and also mcm or merit cum means scholarship is provided to people who maintain decent cgpa and income less than 6 lakh.
Campus Life :
We have excellent labs and a lot of playgrounds and courts for every sport. We have tt table, badminton courts in our hall of residences itself. In the tsg or technology students gymkhana we have all other indoor sports and we have large playgrounds for other games and atheletics.
Hostel Facilities :
6/10. The hostels here are not good, especially the one I live in. I think I can expect better facilities from a premier institute like iit kgp. We dont have good rooms, or morever even good food that is extremely important.
Alumni/Alumna :
Yes seniors are quite helpful and we have a very strong alumni network there is alumni meet every year and also we basically learn a lot of things from seniors here. People are extremely helpful here at kgp.
Admission :
I got admission through JEE mains and JEE advanced that need to be cleared and then after councelling rounds you get your allotted course. There a seven rounds of counselling and you get the college and branch based on your JEE advanced rank.
Faculty :
Faculty is nice and supportive. Sometimes profs can be boring but they are full of knowledge and experts in their fields, they have worked hard in their time to become the professor of an IIT and also provide chance to work on projects.
