What are you most proud of in your career so far?

I’m most proud of having managed a successful administrative team for the last five years. I oversaw a team of more than fifteen employees in an office setting. My team worked tirelessly to ensure that our department ran smoothly, and it showed in our institute’s overall productivity. The higher-ranking associates even recognized us for our work output, and I was awarded a promotion after leading the team for three years. I consider supervising this team to be my greatest accomplishment because of the growth and work produced by them. I gained experience in how to be a better head of the department and employee during the same period.

What strategy do you employ for building an efficient work team?

We emphasize the importance of each team member’s contribution and focus on how all of our jobs operate together to move the entire team closer to its goal. I delegate problem-solving tasks to the team and let the team work on creative solutions together. We maintain an atmosphere of open communication that helps our team understand each other and reach better decisions. It can also help us find better conflict resolutions and create a more harmonious workplace.

What was the most challenging task that you faced in your career so far, and what did you learn from it?

The toughest challenge in my work is when manpower fluctuates and there are not enough people to fill our positions. It becomes hard to work in this situation to complete the allotted responsibilities on time. As my work depends on another team or person, not receiving any responses from them as per expectation is the toughest challenge. I always try to overcome these challenges by executing some additional hard work, as I strongly believe that these challenges glorify our careers and give us the opportunity to go ahead in our life.

What do you find most difficult about being the head of the Department?

In today’s highly competitive work environment, all organizations normally expect their employees to perform their best and meet their goals. While it is common for employees to go through periods of time where they are less productive and motivated, there are ways to help them feel motivated again. If left unresolved, a decrease in productivity can affect the performance of other team members and the achievement of the overall goals. We handle these management problems related to decreased productivity by regularly monitoring employee performance. Setting clear work targets, implementing work processes, assigning specific tasks to each member of the department, and providing constructive feedback if they fall short of the expected performance are additional ways to address this challenge. We may analyze the workflow, get to the root of the problem, and make necessary adjustments. We may be required to enforce work discipline or restructure the department if performance does not improve. By addressing issues early on, it is possible to avoid more problems arising in a later stage.
