He has completed a B.Tech in Civil Engineering and worked in various National Government projects. What is the latest program that you are offering on campus to help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?

VCET College offers courses in Emerging Technologies in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI & ML), Data Science, and Computer Science and Engineering.

Apart from the latest technologies, the college offers conventional undergraduate courses like Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

The College offers PG programs like Computer Science and Engineering, Embedded Systems, and MBA. The MBA specializations include Finance, Marketing, Systems, IT and logistics.

How did you train yourself/faculty to deliver this program to the students?

Our institute encourages the faculty members to attend the Pedagogy, Faculty Development Program (FDP), Workshops, Seminars, Conferences, and NPTEL courses in Emerging Technology to enhance their teaching skills. Furthermore, the institute enters into MoUs with reputed industries to train the faculty members who further train the students in the due course in the institute. This is what we call the ‘Train the trainers’ concept.

What were the challenges that you faced while inculcating this program into your curriculum?

The study of curriculum and instruction has received a lot of attention. However, factors like developing technologies, industry needs, and the understanding level of students are also most important in curriculum design.

What are the benefits and career options after pursuing this course at Visvesvaraya College of Engineering and Technology?

Being a college chairman comes with challenges like balancing administrative responsibilities, addressing diverse student and faculty concerns, navigating budget constraints, ensuring academic quality, managing external relations, and coping with the evolving landscape of education. The role demands effective leadership, decision-making under pressure, and the ability to mediate conflicts. Continuous adaptation to educational trends and fostering a positive institutional culture further add to the complexities of the position.
