How to Calculate the Scores Using CAT Response Sheet?

In order to check their answers and calculate their expected CAT score, the candidates can use the answer key and response sheet. The following steps can be taken for the calculation of the score: 

• Step 1: Download the response sheet and answer key directly from the official CAT website- iimcat.ac.in.
• Step 2: Review the answers from the response sheet and the answer key. Mark the answers as right or wrong. 
• Step 3: Ensure that marks are added and deducted in accordance with the marking scheme. Employ the CAT marking scheme given as: 

• Step 4: The cumulative score of the candidate is calculated by using the following formula: CAT Raw Score (for MCQs) = 3 x (number of correct answers) – 1 x (number of wrong answers). 
• Step 5: Then, the marks received must be added to the marks for Non-MCQs.

How to Challenge CAT Response Sheet and Answer Key?

IIM allows you to challenge the published CAT 2023 answer key (provisional) for 3 days before releasing the final answer key and result. If after checking the answer key and your CAT response sheet, you find a mistake, then you must follow these steps to challenge the same within the specified period:

• Go to the official IIM CAT 2023 candidate login page for raising objection. 
• Fill in the CAT registration ID and password to login, and then press the "Sign in" tab. 
• Now, click on the "Challenge the Answer Key of CAT 2023" link.
• Select the question and answer that you think is wrong 
• Tap on the Objection tab and click "+" icon to raise an objection
• Then, a new window will open to select the section, question type, and question number for the candidate.

The following options are available to candidates while challenging answer keys of CAT 2023:

1. “None of the Options are Correct”
2. “Given Answer Key is Wrong”
3. “More than One Options are Correct”

Only 1 objection is permitted at a time. For each challenge, however, the applicants have to pay a fee of INR 1500 plus processing fee and GST. Only if the objection raised by the candidate is accepted by the IIM, the challenge fee paid will be refunded. The answer key challenge is non-refundable otherwise.

Once candidates raise their objections, the final CAT answer key, which contains the finalized correct responses, is issued by the IIM. No rechecking or revaluation of CAT 2023 final answer key is permitted under any circumstances.

CAT 2023 Result will be published by IIM Lucknow on iimcat.ac.in, the official website of CAT 2023. As per the official notification by IIM-L, the score card of CAT 2023 exam will be out in the second week of Jan 2024.
