I opted for the chemistry department, and the lab experience was very good. Additionally, I received a stipend from the DST.

Review on IISER Bhopal for BS-Economics

The Institute has a campus size of 200 Acres which has many inbuilt facilities in it. There is a Lecture Hall Complex where teaching is done and has 12 rooms in it. Also, there are 4 Academic building where lab work is being done.
The campus has also many sports facilities like both Indoor and Outdoor Badminton Courts, Cricket Stadium(Crescent), Lawn Tennis , Basketball, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-kho, Table-Tennis, Squash, Gymnasium and many more.,

Dislikes

For the first year, there is a large class size for which the teacher-student interaction becomes less .
The institute has no Swimming pool provided. Also the campus is far away from the main city, therefore students have to travel 5-10 kms for the market (Shopping centre is there in campus where a student is provided with basic facilites.)

Placement Experience:

For BS-Economics students,institute provides placement oppurtunities. Median package for BS-ECO students for UG-4 years if 17.5 lacs per annum. But only a handful of 10-15 students are able to grab campus-placement oppurtunites and rest all prepare for other competitive exams or go for off-campus placements. The highest package offered for this degree is 34 lacs per annum . companies like delloite, nomura, barclays etc. come to this institute for placements.

The campus is spectacular and the facilities have been top tier for me.

Dislikes

The girls to boys ratio has been decreasing day by day. The recent batch has been 1:4 ratio.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from 4th year or final year. Most seniors usually opted for higher studies from IISER as it tended to be more research oriented not go for campus placements.

The scientific equipment facilities in the lab is so great
Large size of the campus ensures many places to chill with friends

Teacher student receive is very less decreasing the teacher student interaction in class

Course Curriculum Overview:

The specific aspect is that the curriculum has both poor and applied blend of science. It prepares students in both theoretical and practical aspects of science they are pursuing. The areas of improvement improving the computational facilities available in the campus. Mostly exams are taken once in a month and mid semester & end semester exams carry the most weightage in the grade

The campus is well maintained with all the basic facilities available
No student needs to go to the city for shopping because there is a separates shopping centre inside the campus

Dislikes

Engineering department faculties are very less in number

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that great and only engineering and Economics department people get placed. Last year highest package was 31 lakhs per annum and the average package was 19 lakhs per annum . The statistics are quite good because of place students opting for placements and more students going abroad for research companies like Nomura Bank and Barclays recruit from the campus. My plan after graduation is to enroll in a foreign university for masters

Lush green campus with lots of facilities available all around
The institute has its own medical unit and shopping centre

Limited options to reach the institute from main city of Bhopal

Placement Experience:

From 8th semester onwards student can become eligible for the placements. Mostly students here opt for USD in foreign universities rather than sitting for placements and going to corporate sector. Hence placement scenario is not that great. Steel companies like Barclays numura Bank and Dr. Reddy's lab usually recruit students. The highest package last year was 31 lakhs per my plan is to pursue higher education after the degree

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that great because of being a research institute. Mostly companies don't visit again to the campus because most of the students don't sit for placement and go for higher studies in foreign universities. Still companies like Nomura Bank, Barclays , Dr Reddy's lab have visited in recent years. The average package was around 15 LPA because of less number of student sitting for placements.

Infrastructure is good and most of the labs are well equipped
Campus is full of greenary pollution level is low.

Dislikes

Mess food is quite bad quality too much fluctuating
Quality of professors can be improved most of them cannot explain cannot explain concept well

Placement Experience:

8th semester student are eligible for placement. Delloite and TCS visited. Highest 31 lpa. 20-25 offers were given.Very low % of students are taking placement most opt for PhD, average placement package is 10lpa.My plan is to get a job

Event on every day by different club,collective respone & happiness shared on festivals like onam,Ganesh puja
From house keeping to professors,everyone is cooperative.If my lamp isn't working,problem would br sorted out within 3 to 4 hours.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester onwards peoplee can opt for placements and hence not choosing to do Ms thesis at IISER . The companies that visit are mainly Nomura bank, Barclays , Sr. Reddy's Lab and Many other Quant Firms.The average salary is as high as 20 LPA due to lesser number of student sitting for placements.My plans after the degree is to get placed in a good company.

Likes

The infrastructure is outstanding, with almost all sports facilities, equipped gym, nice hostels.
The labs are well equipped with all instruments necessary. More focus is paid towards overall learning, both experimental and theoretical.

Dislikes

The placement scenario is not so nice, as most students prefer to take a PhD position instead of a corporate offer.

Placement Experience:

Only final-year students are eligible for campus placements. most students at iiserb are research orinented, so even though the institute has a placement cell, not many students take corporate offers. They usually end up taking PhD positions across the globe. The companies that usually come for their placement drive are Barklays, Dr. Reddy's Lab, Nomura, Delloite, SBI. The highest package was approx 28lpa, and the median package is approx 8lpa.

Placement statistics are not quite because of most students going to foreign for doing higher studies . only 4-5 students per department gets placement because only that many choose to . highest package last year was 37 LPA.companies like nomura bank, dr reddy's labs, barclays visit the campus.
