IISER Bhopal Smt. Gouri Mukherjee Scholarship

IISER Bhopal offers a Smt. Gouri Mukherjee Junior Academic Fellowship and Senior Academic Fellowship (SAF) to the meritorious students. The scholarship is available for the BS-MS (Dual Degree) program students enrolled in 3^rd year (sixth semester). The candidate must have scored CPI greater than or equal to 6.0 at the end of the 5^th semester and the annual income of parents from all sources should not exceed INR 2 lakhs. The eligible applicants have to fill out an application form and submit it to the R&D office with all the relevant documents.

IISER Bhopal National Scholarships

IISER Bhopal students can apply for the National Scholarship Scheme and DST Inspire offered by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology and the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India respectively. Students who are among the top 1% of candidates in class XII at their respective Board Examinations and are pursuing courses in Natural and Basic sciences at the Integrated M.Sc. levels are eligible for the DST Inspire scholarship. This scholarship is also provided for candidates who have cleared JEE Advanced, JEE Mains and NEET and are among the top 10,000 rank holders. A scholarship amount of INR 80,000 per annum (including a mentorship grant of INR 20,000) is given to the student. For the continuation of this scholarship, the candidate must have passed all subjects and secure a minimum of 7.0 CPI in each academic year.

IISER Bhopal Other Scholarships

IISER Bhopal also offers scholarships funded by the Shraman Foundation. This scholarship covers tuition and other institutional fees including hostel and mess fees. Review on IISER Bhopal for BS-Economics

The Institute has a campus size of 200 Acres which has many inbuilt facilities in it. There is a Lecture Hall Complex where teaching is done and has 12 rooms in it. Also, there are 4 Academic building where lab work is being done.
The campus has also many sports facilities like both Indoor and Outdoor Badminton Courts, Cricket Stadium(Crescent), Lawn Tennis , Basketball, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-kho, Table-Tennis, Squash, Gymnasium and many more.,

Dislikes

For the first year, there is a large class size for which the teacher-student interaction becomes less .
The institute has no Swimming pool provided. Also the campus is far away from the main city, therefore students have to travel 5-10 kms for the market (Shopping centre is there in campus where a student is provided with basic facilites.)

Fees and Financial Aid:

The Tuition fee for BS-Economics student for the first semester is Rs 36700. Also, for the first semester, a student has to pay one time fee of Rs 15000. Hostel and other campus amenities(user charge) charge for Rs 6700 and Rs 9700 for one semester. Therefore for the first semester, a student has to pay Rs 68100 (For general and OBC/OBC-NCL). The institue provides full tuition fee waiver for SC/ST students. Every year, tuition fees may increase by Rs 1000. All batches do not have same tuition fee structure and vary batch-wise. The institute also provides many scholarships for financially unstable students. One of them is DST-INSPIRE Scholarship which a student can avail if he/she remains in the top 1% in his 12th respective Boards. Only BS-MS(Natural- Sciences) student can avail this scholarship. No BS-Eng. or BS-Eco student can access this scholarship. Also, this scholarship is only given to freshers and no dropper can take this scholarship. One more scholarship is Shraman Scholarship . A student who has his family income less than Rs 2,50,000 is eligible for this scholarship. This scholarship provides financial aid of Rs 25000 per year. There are many more scholarships which are based on state to state and also for girl-child.

The campus is spectacular and the facilities have been top tier for me.

Dislikes

The girls to boys ratio has been decreasing day by day. The recent batch has been 1:4 ratio.

The first semester fees taken in form of tuition fees is 36700. The student activity council fees 9700 and the hostel fees is 6700. Hence the total semester is 53100. Hence the course fee is 106200 per annum. The institute supports scholarship by Department of science and technology like INSPIRE SHE scholarship. For students of scheduled castes and schedule tribes there is no tuition fee taken hence they only pay the other non academic fees.

No student needs to go to the city for shopping because there is a separates shopping centre inside the campus

Engineering department faculties are very less in number

The courier phase is around 106200. It has been increasing from last 2 years. The fees is pleated into tuition fee and other academic fees and hostel fees. The institute provides Gauri Mukherjee Scholarship for girl topper of 1st year and supports DST INSPIRE scholarship. For the students of schedule cast and schedule tribes there is no tuition fee for the entire course duration.

According to the recent changes in the fee structure at eiser Bhopal from now onwards the per semester fees is 53100. But in the first semester one has to pay 68800 out of which 5000 is refundable after completion of no dues. For students of scheduled caste and schedule tribe categories the tuition fees is not taken. from last year onwards the fees increasing. Institute also supports scholarship from Department of science and technology inspire program.

In the first semester the student has to pay a total of 68800 to the institute out of which 35000 is taken as the seaten substance fees and rest as the first semester fee. Among all the fees only the question money of 5000 is refundable at the completion of the degree. Apart from 1st semester all other semester fees is 53100. Insta warrior free becomes 106200. For students of schedule caste and schedule tribes tuition fee is not taken. Hence they only pay hostel fee and other academic fees. Institute supports Department of science and technology inspire scholarship.

Likes

The infrastructure is outstanding, with almost all sports facilities, equipped gym, nice hostels.
The labs are well equipped with all instruments necessary. More focus is paid towards overall learning, both experimental and theoretical.

Dislikes

The placement scenario is not so nice, as most students prefer to take a PhD position instead of a corporate offer.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The fee structure is semester-wise, with Rs. 49800/- per semester, and it is increasing almost every batch of admissions. The tuition fees is waived off for SC/ST Reservation, which then comes down to about 17400/- per semester. The institute in itself does not provide any scholarships, but can be applied through various national organisations or the NSP. The course is fully covered under the SBI Scholar Loan Scheme.
