Since my course is fashion technology I learn more about the back end of the industry, the production and marketing, and merchandising of the clothes that are designed. Some of the subjects we have are SPME, and SCAP which give an insight on how export houses work and what kind of job you can be looking at for work. They also have an option of deeper specialization which offers two subjects one production and the other management. Production as it states goes into producing apparel whereas management understands the technical and technology used to produce these garments. You get a very big insight into the fabric and its sciences you learn deeply about woven knitted and non-woven garments.

I chose this course because NIFT is the best option in the country when it comes to studying Fashion Design. The curriculum is very well structured to tackle all the design problems. There are no textbooks everything is a experience based or hands on learning which is the best part. The frequency and timing of exams is also quite well. We have 2 major assignments at an interval of 3 months and one final assignment which is the jury assignment at the end of every semester. The constructive criticism and harsh feedbacks are what pushes us to keep improving our work which is an essential skill needed in the real world.

My course is FASHION COMMUNICATION which is basically all about UI/UX design, Graphic designing etc. Since childhood I've been a tech savvy kind of person. I like to explore different applications and thus this course allows me to work on application like FIGMA, ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR, PHOTOSHOP, etc. So nift has jury every semester and whatever work we've done so far is presented there. The panel doesn't judge us on their level rather on industry or company levels. We're taught from day one that you are not working for faculty rather consider us clients and work according to our needs. The semester consists of mid term, end term and jury assignments and i think the difficulty level varies from person to person. For me, it gets a little hectic during jury as it is the last chance for us to present something out of the box product and for that it needs high level of thinking and exploration and completing that within the given deadline becomes a task.

GEs could be made better with more time alotted to each. Subjects should be more relevant to the industry based knowledge require with practical approach. All the subjects need to be imparted to the students with in-depth knowledge of all. A better method would be regular/periodic evaluation of students throughout the semester rather than just the jury.

The course curriculum was relevant which has further improved manifold recently adding a range of subjects like those related to physical and mental fitness, AI, machine learning etc and during internships we are supposed to do projects which integrates the knowledge of these subjects to solve industrial problems. The curriculum is semester based with exams at an interval of every 6 months.

They start with very beginner thing so you get to learn right form the start. The connection in between is very understanding. There's nothing as such to improve everything is being set properly according to the industry. They also prepares you for the real world by giving some collaborative class room projects. The exams are being taken in 3 parts midterms, end terms and final juries. The duration between them is fair as well.

I was drawn towards fashion industry since very starting and I have been researching on how to further study on the same field and then comes bachelor's in fashion technology. I studied alot to qualify nift all India exam and got into the College. Studying at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) can offer several advantages compared to studying at a private college. Here are some reasons why NIFT may be worth considering: Reputation and Accreditation: NIFT is a prestigious institution in India known for its quality education and industry relevance. It is a government institution and is recognized for its programs in fashion design, technology, management, and communication. Industry Connections: NIFT has strong ties with the fashion industry, which can provide students with opportunities for internships, placements, and exposure to industry trends. The institute often collaborates with leading fashion houses, designers, and brands, offering students valuable networking.

The curriculum prepares us for our real world applications of what we have pursued as there are regular feedbacks and continuous guidance from the faculty. By the end of the semester, the students are evaluated by a jury who review all the work the students have done throughout the semester.
