Course Curriculum Overview
GEs could be made better with more time alotted to each. Subjects should be more relevant to the industry based knowledge require with practical approach. All the subjects need to be imparted to the students with in-depth knowledge of all. A better method would be regular/periodic evaluation of students throughout the semester rather than just the jury.
Internships Opportunities
Reliance retail, Arvind limited, Raymonds, etc almost all you know come for placements and some even offer good packages. For the internships as well, the offers are good based on what they can offer. They usually make you do what an assistant designer be doing and also some unnecessary tasks cause why not. Everybody has different experience but all are good.
Placement Experience
After the completion of the degree, you are eligible for placements. Placement opportunities exist but employers usually consider interns over employees since that would lessen their wages to be paid without hiring anyone. The companies that come for the placements are good providing at least 5lac catch for UG. Percentage of placements is less.
Fees and Financial Aid
Sarthak policy was available as scholarships based on the finances and economic conditions of students covering from 25% of the fees to 100% of the fees. A lot of other unnecessary fees were compulsory providing no benefit. Udaan scholarship was also made available to the students going for exchange programmes. NIFT recommends Summer internships and Graduation project internships to be fairly paid.
Campus Life
Campus life was great with lots to explore on your own if you really like design. There are lots of college fests like Spectrum and Converge. Rc makes lots of resources available to their students to learn from. NIFT Raebareli is developing when it comes to machines and equipments. If you like sports go for it. Also, there are four clubs namely, ESSE, SAP, Literary and cultural with actively work.
Hostel Facilities
There's a fan and light in the room also a cooler for summers. You can also opt for ac rooms by paying extra but they are less in number, works on First come basis. Hostel conditions are not good enough. Maintainence lacks a lot. Food at the mess is good, best out of all NIFT campuses but at times may disappoint. You can pay at the counter for the hostel and they alot rooms on first come basis as well. Hostel is available for all. PG are also available, some are good some not.
Admission
The eligibility is quite simple. You need to have passed 12th exams from any board. Application forms are made available on the website with regular reminders. If you got reservation of obc, sc/st, ews, or domicile of a particular state where NIFT exists, chances are you'll crack in easily. The exam happens once every year with 2 exams on the same day and an interview later on. R-quota can be corrected for the admission process.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio was good enough to make learn accessible to all. Some faculties may not be fit for the role but most of them were good with ample knowledge of the industry. They were always available to the beck and call of their students.
