NID conduct an entrance exam every year on national level for admission of students in UG and PG programme. Design Aptitude Test known as NID DAT is a two stages exam with prelims and main. NID DAT prelims for bachelor degree is a written exam. The course curriculum is elaborate. faculties provide vast knowledge in four year programme. My specialization was on furniture and interior designing which evolved my workings on creation and evolution of objects. The faculties were as well very supportive and helpful, they were also very well experienced and had depth understanding in their respective field.

The curriculum has about 6-12 modules each semester which are vastly varied subjects. In majority of them a visiting faculty is appointed for guidance. The institute mostly believes in learning by doing and rarely spoonfeeds or holds the hand. There is a CGPA system and at the end there is a Jury presentation of the semester's work.

It was my best shot. I was unsure, and they had a year-long foundation course, so I could still make up my mind if this is what I truly wanted. It was a lucky shot, but worth it. Right now, I am doing animation and film design, and the wealth of insight and info I get here is probably most human-centric and community-based.

This Ph.D course can be done in both ways, Part time or Full time. The full times candidates will be available for the period of three years with a stipend for 3 years. The part time Ph.D will be of 5 years.

NID Ahmedabad cutoff 2024 (qualifying) for admission to B.Des for Open category and Gen-EWS category candidates is 50%. Furthermore, OBC-NCL category candidates have to secure 45% marks in the NID DAT exam. However, the NID Ahmedabad cut-off 2024 for SC and ST category stands at 40% marks, and that of the overseas candidates the cutoff of NID Ahmedabad is 50%. In terms of the exam, NID Ahmedabad DAT Prelims cutoff 2024 is 40%, while the weightage given to NID DAT Mains 2024 is 60% for admission to B.Des courses. This means that for preparing the final result, 40% weightage will be given to Prelims and 60% to marks scored in IIM Ahmedabad DAT Mains exam. In addition to it, for admission to M.Des program at NID Ahmedabad, 30% weightage will be given to the Prelims exam, while 70% weightage will be given to the Mains exams. The DAT Mains exam for the M.Des exam has two components – the Studio Test (40%) and Interviews (30%). The expected cutoff rank is 47 at NID Ahmedabad fr the open category.
