Campus Life:

Fests are just to good here as recently a MindRocks event happened and Jonita Gandhi was invited to perform. She lit up the entire campus as it was that good. Our annual fest is called Invincia which happens just before the final semesters. The campus is quite big as it is over 60 acres in area and has the best of auditorims, open amphitheatres and sports grounds. The campus even has both boys and girls hostel too.

Placement Experience:

Many textile companies like Snitch, Arvind Mills, and others which anyways offeres internship to fasion designing students are the ones who also hires students of our branch. On an average 5-6 lakh jobs are offered while some star their own business after graduating from here. My plans after degree is to join my family business as we are a textile manufacturer.

Faculty:

Few of my faculties were really really good like they knew the concept of studying fashion designing and understood everything and they were really supportive. But some of them were good as nothing. They used to give assignments which were not creative (which is required in this course) and only the type we're student will copy everything from pinterest. I'm very very thankful to my Dean Miss Deepa Arya. She was really good and supportive and she was always there for us. And she used to arrange new events and fashion show so that we can have practical knowledge too. Not in my department I've seen in other departments that teachers they do not care about students and are racist. My friend who is in the department of hotel management, he faced racism from his Dean. I've seen politics and lots of bad things happen because of faculties in other departments.

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Not many good companies came for my course. Package was around 300000-450000 per annum. And for the position like fashion consultant. No designers came for placements, only in retail sector and merchandise sector. I'm my course highest package was around 500000/annum. My classmates we're hungry for jobs so they all got same job in the same company around 8 of them for 2.5lakhs/ annum. Because my plan is to work with a designer and in the designing industry and my college didn't provide me designer. I searched on my own a designer and currently doing internship under them. And my college also doesn't provide degree before 7-8 months. I don't know why. My friend who is currently doing MBA(2nd year) did BBA from my college, didn't get his degree till now.

Faculty:

Faculties here are industry experts, they are experienced and know what they are doing. In every semester there is a Mid Term Assignment Submission and End term ( Jury) . The jury could be a new experience for new students but overall it's a new experience for students, it's not a written exam tho, it's like an interview, we Present our work to the jury members, and they criticize it.

Campus Life:

Campus also brings in lots of opportunities. Like there is GEO AND GEM, and also sometimes brands like Red Bull, Reebok and Westside, royal enfield come to campus for organizing activities. Those are really fun. And also sports events too.

Faculty:

The facilities are very approachable regarding any queries. Im just a first year student i cant say which facility is how ? No reason for disliking them. For the fashion department the exams are much less compared to footwear ie it could be 1 or 2 papers for fashion and 8 papers for footwear. The curriculum is very up to date with latest technologies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I liked the fact the course is very descriptive, includes elements of design, business , manufacturing and such. The course prepares you for the real world giving extra lessons such as in communication and development. The timetable is well set with good break or gaps. Only need for improvement is portion completion.

Then if you clear situation test then only you get admission in nift. Nift is rank among top 2 fashion college in India. nift is a government college

Faculty:

The relationship between a student and a teacher is beautiful. the exams are like every month there is an assignment of 30 marks and in the end of the sem there is a jury where people from outside come and see your work and rate it. Two assignments of 30 -30 marks nd then jury mark that's how exams happen not everyone fails because of the marks but some fail because of the attendance shortage. it is compulsory to have 75% attendance in each subject

Campus Life:

Currently only one annual festival is held in campus which is Meet The Creator which was lastly held on February 2024. The library is filled with great books and covers a huge variety of topics and will help you overcome difficulties if you have any. The classroom is provided with WiFi and has really functional tables and chairs. There are various sports and extracurricular activities held in the campus led by the sports club of the college which includes almost every outdoor/indoor sport. There are a lot of student run clubs such as arts club, sports club, music club, games club, media club, mess committee, etc.

Faculty:

The faculty to student ratio is 15:1 and all the faculties are easily approachable. My favourite faculty is Sreeram because he provides great insight and feedback to improve your project. The faculty I didn't like is Prashana Prashanth because she seems to target you sometimes. Students are marked mainly internally with an external jury for a subject and 1 or 2 external theory exams depending on the semester. Almost every student clears the exams. The course curriculum is pretty relevant but outdated in some instances.

The total fees if you opt for hostel, mess and laundry also after the academic fees totals to around 6 LPA. Other than that you have to pay for your own stationery, educational trips like industrial visits (if any). No other lab charges are there. There is an option to apply for scholarship. But the networking and connections are great at the college.

Faculty:

The mentor-mentee ratie is very good. Each student gets enough attention from the mentor and can approach ang mentor for doubts anytime. The faculties can be very strict at times but it is for our own good so that we know how to handle deadlines and maintain the quality of work at the same time.

Faculty: student Ratio is 3:10 There are 2 professors(1 asnt, 1 main) and 1HOD and 1 Dean The assistant professor and hod were easy to approach but the other two were never. I never liked the other professor as he would always give me negative remarks even though I was never wrong, he would use my apparel as example to other students saying that this the way to do but would give me low grade The assistant prof was always approachable she was friendly and understanding even if students were rude to her For exams, we had 2 juries each semester one in mid and other at the end of the semester. The juror always came from outside For the difficulty level, I would personally day that as I was the roll number 1 I was always crushed they would always ask out of the box questions and pay attention to every minute detail but as the roll numbers go by there questions decrease they pay less attention

Course Curriculum Overview:

From my personal experience I believe the course was really basic like not even the first step More complex apparel could have been taught How to identify the fabric should be taught one on one not via zoom meeting Professors prepareed ppts and in class only read that it was monotonous not even a word extra from pptthen they expect great results in are assignments

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choosed this course expecting to go at Nift kannur but the cut off was just above my ranks and could not get there . While checking for the next option this was the only college in Kerala that provides 4 year B.Des course. Iftk had the syllabus of nift now it has changed to international. In this course there is so much work to do within a short period of time. Most of the subjects are practical so would take time to learn and do. As this is Kerala government college the exam are not in order takes so much time gap and also may be together as well . Practical are fine but papers are a bit difficult.

Campus Life:

No much festivals are held only onam ,christmas, fresher day ,and this time arts day was not conducted. There is a small library at our campus. The facilities available are limited and technologies are not working properly the computer labs the sewing machines. No sports or extracurricular activities are held at the campus. Nothing like student run social groups, clubs ,or student portals, including impact on student life.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The cource curriculum is so far so good. aAs it's a designing college everything from the base is taught including hand stitches, machine practice, sketching, paintings everything from the start. The college also conducts outdoor visits to different exhibitions and different factories where one can witness the process of making of fabric, yarns , silks etc. lot of industrial visits are also done

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

The fee structure is quite expensive but also affordable if we look at the course offered. It includes everything and also the best learning. The fees is inclusive of everything like tution service etc. the mode of payment is also flexible and you have to pay in installments and not all together

I'm paying over 6 and a half lakhs per annum for my Fashion Design Course that's integrated with Bangalore City University for my degree. Pearl only provides their own merit-based scholarship but if certain criteria aren't maintained, the students may lose it. Campus doesn't have much to offer, but I am part of the Fashion Society which is a club that focuses on the main team going to competitions outside of college and hosting events. I was also considered for the head of the fashion society but I declined them due to never ending work from my course. Maybe with taxes and the stationary that college does not include, I'd spend around 7.5 lakhs per annum (I need to buy fabrics for garments as well that's why)

Campus Life:

The clubs are great but they need to have some sort of teacher involvement and they have no funds from college the students fund everything. The events are fun but the infrastructure is horrible. The library is quite nice and we don't have anything amnual we celebrate every event with nothing specially catered for Pearl. We did have portfolio event that showcased all our seniors work right before they graduated though.

Campus Life:

All the major festivals including Holi, diwali, Pongal, onam, lohri, dussehra, etc are celebrated with full enthusiasm. Students participate with great interest and the entire campus gets decorated beautifully during the festivities. The library is well equipped with books for every field we need as design students. I have never had to face the disappointment of not finding the right book I was looking for. The library stays open till 8 pm giving students enough time to cater their needs. Sports are also given importance in our college. The campus has a basketball court and volleyball court of its own. There are a lot of interesting student clubs like the photography club, literature club, social service club, cultural club, etc led by an elected student council. Overall the campus life is pretty well balanced.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because NIFT is the best option in the country when it comes to studying Fashion Design. The curriculum is very well structured to tackle all the design problems. There are no textbooks everything is a experience based or hands on learning which is the best part. The frequency and timing of exams is also quite well. We have 2 major assignments at an interval of 3 months and one final assignment which is the jury assignment at the end of every semester. The constructive criticism and harsh feedbacks are what pushes us to keep improving our work which is an essential skill needed in the real world.
