The college has been recognised as the best fashion Education institute in Hyderabad. It was also ranked 7th Fashion Design institute by India Today 2022. The college has been made a statutory institute in 2006 by an Act of the Indian Parliament with the President of India as ‘Visitor’ and has full-fledged campuses all across the country.

NIFT Hyderabad Admissions
The admission in NIFT Hyderabad for both UG and PG courses is done through NIFT Entrance Exam. Candidates who meet NIFT cut-offs are then supposed to appear for NIFT counselling round. At the time of counselling, candidates need to select the course and college of their choice for admissions.
For CE programmes, candidates are called for a Face-to-face interview at the NIFT campus selected by them for admission. The official website informs: “The interview for each CE Programme is designed to test the knowledge, skill and aptitude of the candidates for the programme opted by them”. Which is taken into consideration while allotting admission.
Admission Cycle: NIFT Hyderabad’s admission details are released in October for degree courses and entrance exams and admissions are conducted in January followed by the next stage of admissions in April/ May. Application forms for CE programmes are released in June followed by the interview round for admissions that is held in August/ September, every year.
Mode of Application: NIFT Hyderabad application process is conducted online for all courses. However, the application form can be submitted offline for CE programmes
How to apply?
- Admission Guidelines: For admission in UG and PG design programmes offered at NIFT Hyderabad candidates need to fill NIFT Entrance Exam application form online on the official website of the design entrance exam.
- NIFT selection Process includes a written test, situation test, and interview. Candidates clearing the NIFT exam are called for the further rounds of selection.
- A System generated letter will be issued to shortlisted candidates with all details regarding counselling schedule and documents required for verification.
- Students who pass the qualifying examination from any other University and are required to come for NIFT counselling to select the desired course and college.
- Though the institute does not charge any fee for the primary round of counselling, however each subsequent round of counselling would be charged at the rate of INR 5000.
- The NIFT has a reservation of total seats for SC/ST, OBC-NCL and Person with Disability (PWD) which can be availed with the relevant certificate.
- Documents for verification:
- All-Academic certificates up to qualifying examination. In the case of the final exam appearing candidate, whose result is due, all original mark sheets of the previous semester/years needs to be presented along with the date sheet/admit card for examination.
- Demand Draft of requisite fee in favour of ‘NIFT HO’. Payable at New Delhi has to be submitted. The candidate’s name, counselling date, contact number, program name, NIFT Rank and Roll Number should be mentioned at the back of DD.
- Proof of DOB
- Documents in the prescribed format, in support of the claim of reservation.
- Parents Income Certificate as the basis for Tuition Fee funding.
- Medical certificate in the prescribed format issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner.
- Affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.10/- for seeking only provisional admission in case the qualifying examination result is due.

For applying to B. F. Tech, we have to sit for the entrance exam GAT - General ability testin the month of February. The selection is done based on your performance in the test and then counselling session is done where the centres where you can choose the centres available at your rank.

- Generally, for undergraduate course the fees is very high as of a government college. But tbh, NIFT do justice to it. There might be less opportunities as of a fresher in industry, that's why the salary package is low. But nift teaches you a lot.
- It prepares you for the outer world and if you have enough passion, you will end up in the most dignified places. The learning outcome is great here.
Dislikes
- There is not much that i have disliked here. Basic hostel problems and mess food sometimes are not eatable. Which is common everywhere
- Our junior director and director sir are great and very supportive of student council which represents us. Sometimes, are demands may go unheard but they specially specify reasons for same.
Admission:
For bftech course , you need to be a pcm student in class 12. You have to appear for the nift entrance exam. The question paper is quite easy, they don't ask you fashion related questions (that's what I got to know during my exams), just a general ability test including maths, English, logical reasoning, and general knowledge. One can get reservation benefit during the cut off and final admission process.

The admission process is quite lengthy as it has 4 steps to clear. Submitting application form through online process. GAT (General Aptitude Test and CAT Creative Ability test - GAT Includes your general aptitude test ( English, reasoning, analytics, general knowledge) and CAT includes the creative mind test like the knowledge of the colors, how different you can think and present in on paper. Situation test: This includes creating a 3D model on the given topic within a particular timeframe. Counseling process: It includes an allotment of courses and college branch as per rank.

The admission process was very systematic and smooth. All the forms and dates are on the NIT website. You need to keep checking the mail and be updated all the time. There is no specific eligibility. It is not necessary to be from a fashion background, students from all backgrounds can apply.

There is an exam that is self-conducted by NIFT and there is 2 round. 1st round is the written paper which is known as the GAT-General Aptitude Test. 2nd round is GDPI-Group discussion and personal interview. Last year I filled out the form and it cost me 3000. There is a reservation in this college for EWS, SC, St, OBC, and NRI too.

The fee of our college is very high if we see it as a government college. The scholarship process is very Hecktick and it happens during the running semester for which we couldn't focus on the scholarship process. I would like the government to look after the matter of fashion colleges.

I appeared for the NIFT entrance exam and luckily cleared the cutoff. Hence was asked to fill the form for counselling. Every year the cutoffs are different and ranks are allotted to candidates. The ranks are the only cutoffs for various branches under 16 campuses of NIFT PAN India. Rank wise counselling schedule is done and we have to attend any one of the nearest NIFT campuses on our counselling day with the required documents. I availed of the OBC (NCL) quota for my admission. There is a minimum mark of about 50% in class 12th to appear for the NIFT entrance examination and age should be not below 21 years. Also, there are 2 separate exams for B.Des. and B.F.Tech. The B.Des. has two parts in the entrance examination one is CAT and the other is GAT and PI/GD. For B.F.Tech. only GAT is required. The counselling happens at the same time at all the 16 campuses of NIFT and from there one can select the subjects the candidate want to pursue along with the choice of campus.

Our course curriculum is very warm and playfull,all teachers make us learn through live projects, it help us to be more clear of the work that we have to do in corporate world.äó¢Qualification- Most of the teachers have PHD And some are CS (company secretary).There meathod of teaching is intractive so we all understand better.äó¢äó¢exams are held on semester basis 1st semester was on december and second on April-May. 1st 3rd 5th semester on december and 2nd 4th 6th semester on April-May

I find it interesting. There are fewer students so it is easy for the faculty to focus on each and every student. We have a lot of practical based learning. Our exams are conducted in 2 different formats. The theory subjects have written exam while rhe practical ones have jury exams.

The fee for the first year is INR 3.26 Lakhs, 2nd year is INR 3.20 Lakhs, for 3rd year is INR 3.37 Lakhs, and for the 4th year is INR 3.60 Lakhs for the Bachelor in Fashion Designing course.

The online application forms are closed on 12th January 2023. No new admission dates are yet announced for the 2023 session. It is expected that the admissions will be done soon.
The facilities included at the institute are 238 rooms, 8 guest rooms, medical & doctor facilities, indoor sports facility, a mess, a recreation room, and all basic amenities provided to all the students.
